We've got a T3 as well... i got the 30mbsp speed only once though, a month ago, i think they throttled us b/c of all the movies we watch during the down time 🙂
 
There are 2 redundant 45mbit T3 connections from the datacenter to the HQ. There are also 2 redundant 45mbit T3 connections to our ISP. The 5000+ clients are all connected via satellite and DSL. Up until about 2 or 3 years ago, they were all connected via satellite, but the latency sucks, and rain fade as well as iced up dishes caused downtime so they have all been outfitted with DSL as well. If there are telco issues, then they can fail over to just the satellite.

I don't know what speeds we're supposed to have, but if I'm lucky I can get 100k download speeds inside the building. You would find much more humor in this if I could tell you where I work -- I'll give you a hint: it has to do with my uncle, Sam, and the operations of his entire network.
