we're a dial up ISP/computer repair/it consulting shop....

and to serve our dial up access we have 2 load balanced T1's... yes the classic T1's, yes 48 POTS lines....and we use it for our office network as well as the dial up customers....

in the office i average at my desk ~250-350KB/s both ways on a normal basis.... :)

i know it's nothing special... i know some of you guys are sitting on serious optical connections that would put that to shame...

at home we have 4mbps/512kbps cable... it's not to bad.... the office still feels quicker browsing around though...

I get 4mB/s downloads from certain servers

I used to work for an ISP I got 10mB/s (pretty sure the 100mbs network was the bottleneck).

I work at a Lockheed Martin Facility with a population of about 2000. I figure we've got something hardcore.

My downloads are ~4-8 MBytes/s

at my old job when i was in charge of things (sort of) we had a ds3. 6 up and down. that was kinda cool, just ungodly expensive and we didn't even use all that bandwidth. Before I left I suggested some copper solutions. i think they're still on fibre.

o well.

In our main office, we have a 3 MB connection.
In the field office I currently inhabit, DSL is capped by the local TelCo. at at 768 KBS, but I'm lucky if I can manage 500 KPS, usually around 300 or so.

3mb cable at work. same at home. At my old job we had a 6mb DS3. And at the job before that on campus we had multiple T3s. Tested out to 20mb last I remember.

That's a fractional T1, which is horrible. That's almost an ISDN line :( I hope you're not paying much for that!

I was downloading a while off the website at 4000 KBps a weeks ago. I'll do an actual speed test and see what the connect speed is like.

We have 3 bonded T3 lines, the sad part is we're on the AT&T loop and they rent space from us to house their DS48 for their local loop that we can't tap into. It's right in my break room :(
