ALTEC LANSING ACS48's

Bought them new in 1998 and they are still rocking to this day. Hard hitting bass, decent highs, etc.

Z560's cannot hold a candle to them imho, even after all these years.

I had those same ones and hated them...

Did you use the digital connection? I actually love mine. The only thing I don't really like is the "oomph" in the bass, but I got them a long time ago so I don't expect much.

Yup, when I had a SB Live Gamer. Sound was OK. When I upgraded my mobo, I wanted to use the onboard sound but it didn't work.

I dont know any onboard sound that has digital out for speakers. You gotta use the Green and black cable.
If you tried to use the yellow plug of course it won't work. There is no digital signal going out from your onboard audio.

Have the same ones. Gotta love the single-wire connection to the Audigy and the fact that they actually use normal speaker wire.

What single wire connection to the Audigy? The FPS 2000 digital uses some special Digital DIN connector (looks like an Svideo plug) that only SB Lives had. At least, my Audigy doesn't have one!

I forget if the adapter came with my old SBLive card, or if it came with the speakers, but I have a little adapter that converts the digital DIN to a single headphone size plug. Goes right into the digital output jack on my Audigy Plat.

Creative Inspire 5200 5.1 Surround speakers. Got 'em for x-mas last year (I think they cost $70).

Two sets of Promedia 4.1's hooked up as a (4.1 x 2) 8.2 setup, and a set of the Logitech Z-680's for my bedroom HT setup. :)

Hm, must have came with the Live!, since I know my FPS2000 never came with that adapter. Ahh well, I still like these speakers. The sound quality is excellent, although it isn't the loudest thing out there. I've never really cared for booming bass anyway.
