I have a ghetto setup.... but I like it..

I have a Kenwood receiver hooked up, and some little Cerwin Vega speakers. sounds great if you ask me.

Anyone with a computer that wants "decent" sound from playing games & listening to music on thier computer will opt for Klipsch or Logitech speakers ....... NOT ! ! !
If you want good sound , you need a reciever , a good sound card (Audigy2) & a set of fair/good speakers !

We're not talking a set of Klipsch TWEETERS that cost $300.+ that only produce tweet tweet , high pitch noises that a mockingbird gets off on . All you need is a cheap reciever & a set of decent mid ranges to kick arse 😉
My cheap setup comprises of a : JVC reciever (rx-515v 8yrs. old) and set of Radio Shack Pro LX5's / max 100 watts each baby . (these are the original LX5's btw)

Of course this is for a 2 speaker setup but I've had friends comment after seeing my setup how I get such better sound when they had spent so much more on a five speaker setup .

KLIPSCH sucks the big one for Bass , & Bose also sucks a nose for this . If gone is the big speaker , then gone is the bass .......... As you need a big speaker to push the air to pursue bass .

All I'm saying is if you are looking at playing music & games at thier fullest extent ....... Look into more than those Klipsch / Logitech CHEAPIES !

Get a cheap stereo reciever & a couple decent new mid-range/bookshelf speakers & you can then laugh at your friends .

Z560's here! That is until I want to get some REAL volume... then I flip on my PA system (5,450 watts pushing 2 dual 18" sub enclosures and 4 15" 2-way high cabs through a Yamaha digital mixer). The matrix reloaded soundtrack actually blew my door open... 🙂 I obviously use this system for sound reinforcement for large events, but it sure is fun sometimes to play around in the garage!

right now, i go back and forth between my old altec lansing atp3's and my sony mdr-v6 headphones. still debating whether to upgrade my headphones or my speakers.

wow, you guys are really cool with bombastic speakers,
I just have an Altec Lansing ATP3
and well satisfied with it since I don't blast music or listen to techno that much😉
