What kind of computer does the average person have?

Judging from my friends and family - one that constantly needs to be fixed or upgraded by me. HPs, Compaqs, and E-machines that have been FUBARed by a Best Buy tech, and require me to undo most of what their fix-it utility "fixed." Most likely one that will require me to spend 2-3 hours on it, and then have to break the news to them that they will need to buy a new piece of hardware, which pisses them off because they figured it would cost them dinner and a few beers.

This is actually true. Sad, but true. I just finished cleaning this computer up. 18 year old college student took his parent's computer with him to school. Computer - Duron 1.3, 256 MB, 60GB, 48x12x48 CD/RW, 56K AMR, 10/100 NIC, Integrated SiS Video and sound.
