Just wondering...if you get a girl's number then call her a few days later and get her answering machine and she doesnt call you back, would you bother calling her back?

- After you get the number, wait at least 2 days but not more than 5 to call back.
- If you call and get her machine, leave a message. Make sure you know what you want to say so you don't sound like a doofus.
- Wait at least 24 hours (pref. 2-3 days) for her to call back. You have one last chance.
- Call again, leave one last message if she doesn't answer. If she answers and turns down a date, leave her alone.
If you do not secure a date within a week of your inital call, wait for her to make the next move. If you don't hear from her again, she is NOT INTERESTED and you should try again with some other unsuspecting female.

Yes, but that is a rare exception to the rule, and then you have to open the Book of Booty Call and One Night Stands for the alternate set of rules.
Isn't there a math formula for figuring this out? With all of the computer people here asking about women, someone should just write a dating advice program for all of the AT nerds.
If I call a girl, and leave a message, and she doesn't call back, I leave it at that. If a girl doesn't call me on an evening when she says she was going to, barring serious family emergencies, I won't even bother again.

ugh...but she left me both her phone number and pager number. So I guess she kinda wants me to call her? Maybe she's just playing mind games. It's been a week since I left a message on her machine, so I guess maybe I might call her just for the hell of it.
I've received garbled messages in the past (my answering machine should probably be replaced). Give her the benefit of the doubt and call again.

What you got to lose? call back and if its not ment to be...then eh it aint ment to be...but if it is and you hook up then what have you lost? It wont hurt to call back.
Three strikes rule. Call at most, three times. Space them atleast 24 hours apart. Any more than that and you'll be considered asstalker to all her friends.

I'm incredibly surprised that there's no "stab her" option in the poll.
Because of this, I was forced to vote "Yes, if you like her enough."
I'm also surprised that there's so many hardasses here. One strike and you're out? Some people can't sit by the phone 24 hours a day hoping that it rings. No wonder we're a bunch of dateless, single geeks here!

She wouldn't have given you her number if she didn't want you to call her. I say keep calling until she tells you whats up.

Call her again, maybe page her. It can't hurt, and you should always give people a 2nd chance.

If you have her pager number then that is always the FIRST number you call, that way you dont have to wait hours and hours between phone call's(put a 911 before your number, that'll get her to call you for sure). Little heads up though, any girl with a pager is going to be hard to reach. As far as I can tell young chicks use pagers as another way of screening anyone trying to reach them for the most part. It's easy to get a girls number in this day in age, the real trick is getting them to pick up the phone.

WRONG. Alot of times they say this so they know when NOT to answer the phone. In highschool I had this girl GIVE me her number without me even asking for it and tell me to call her because she would be home for sure. So I call her up that night and I get a machine, she had her own phone line which CANT be good, any highschool girl with her own phone line talks to much. I left a message and didn't think twice about it. The next day in class she said "Hiiiiiiiiiii, I really missed you!!" and she had a fat ass smile on her face, and at this point I felt she was full of sh*t because I had only known her for a week. Then she say's "I didn't hear from you last night" and I say "I left a messeage, guess I didn't catch you though" and she says "Oh really, I'm sorry, yeah guess not, last night was really crazy". At this point I'm just praying I dont have to listen to her make up a story, so all I say is "I hear ya", silence................., "bla bla bla bla bla bla, I had to watch my brother, bla bla bla, my grandma had a heart attack, bla bla bla, my car broke down and I slept in a safeway parking lot all nite, bla bla bla, call me tonight ok, I PROMISE I'll be there, I wanna talk to you SOOO bad".
