Unfortunately, everywhere there are humans, there will be conflict. If we colonize space, we'll just be taking out problems with us.

Solo was a letdown. I was hoping for something great and got something good.

Oh, as for the OPs question.

A+ The Luke Skywalker Trilogy (simply because of good quality storytelling and non-ridiculous dialog)

B- The Post-War Trilogy (because its basically decent but they rely too heavily on the old characters instead of telling a new story with new characters)

C+ The Star Wars Stories (because the ideas were good but poorly executed and there's WAY too many references to the other, much better films. They should have focused more on created high quality original stories.)

F- The Anakin Skywalker Trilogy (because they took a very good premise and completely ass fucked it to death with lazy, moronic stories, and horrendous dialog. I'd actually be happy if a bunch of amateurs did their own renegade version of the trilogy.)

Z The George Lucas Remakes (which wrecked perfectly good films and should never have been allowed at all. )

Come to think of it, Anakin didnt even need a trilogy. It could have been one epic film or two short stories, rise and fall.

I refuse to believe it's in our DNA.

I'm surprised at the love for Star Wars. (the original movie, re-named A New Hope.) Yeah, it kicked off the franchise, and was pretty original in what it did, but the sets and costumes were cheesy at best, and the graphics were horrid. (of course, 1977 was a bit before CGI as we know it today) Still...it's probably my favorite of the bunch. I was never a big fan of ESB, and the Ewoks ruined RotJ for me...I put them in the same category as Jar Jar Binks...

Ewoks were murderous savages. Jar Jar was a clown. The thing I appreciate about the Ewoks is that while they had that obvious cute factor just to make toys, at least they were also a fully-realized community, several had some actual character to them, and they were pretty awesome, fearless little warriors. Jedi could have been better without them, but the outmatched, outgunned, occupied and obsolete army beating the modern army is as old a trope there is. I'm not really bothered by it.

Plus, Jedi easily has the most important scene in the entire series: The entire Luke/Vader/Emperor sequence at the end. It's really quite awesome, especially when Luke looses it briefly and rage mode kicks in. Still nothing better in all of Star Wars. ....that being said, Empire is still the better film, overall, in every possible way, I must say.
