What is your ranking of Star Wars movies from best to worst?
The Empire Strikes Back
Expanded the mythology beyond space wizards, cowboys and Nazis, and the only truly epic entry in the series; the best version of Luke, Han and Leia in all the movies. Boba Fett as a truly menacing threat. Battle of Hoth.
A New Hope
What started it all. A boy, a girl, a galaxy
Return of the Jedi
Yeah the Ewoks were lame, but I don’t cringe when watching it...I still grin when all the Ewoks pop up and surprise the Empire. The best paced and choreographed space battle of the series. Models > CGI. Jabba palace and sand barge fight. It’s a trap!
Solo
First nu-Star Wars film to truly capture the spirit of the originals, a fun entry in the series and how Disney should model the anthology films. Glover delivers an amazing Lando.
Rogue One
A missed opportunity in some regards but also some very memorable sequences. Remove the whole Jynn Erso father/daughter relationship and make her character just a regular special ops group leader and it works better. Finally get to see Darth Vader tear some sh!t up
The Force Awakens
Rehash/reboot but entertaining, I like the idea of Rey and Kylo Ren challenging the assumptions around Light and Dark side. I was hoping in TLJ they would play on this theme more. Didn’t care for nu-Empire or Han Solo deadbeat dad.
Revenge of the Sith
Only prequel I can really watch anymore, Ewan McGregor nailed Obi Wan
The Last Jedi
WTF: WW2 space bombers, Mary Poppins Leia, astral projection Luke, hyperspace kamikaze and a prequel bad detour to a casino planet? On repeat viewings, I fast forward to the Rey/Ren scenes.
The Phantom Menace
Darth Maul duel for the win, the phantom edit is actually a decent movie, but otherwise, a complete letdown
Attack of the Clones
I don’t like sand, it gets everywhere, WTF. The only good scene in the entire movie is the Obi-Wan/Jango fight.
