Where's the option for negative salary?

-$50,000

Full time grad student at a private university.

And then I'm likely gonna get $20-30k a year for the next 5 years after graduation if I'm fortunate enough to get into a nice PhD program. :awe:

So if my bonus is spread between 10% and 40% depending on financial performance, what do I use? What about restricted stock options...do I include those? And, do I do it at current price or projected future price?

Maybe we should just use base salary and forgo all additional compensation...but, do I adjust based on my COLA against the NAWI?

I'm good with money but I don't always put it where my wife would prefer, like I do need a new bedroom set and kitchen table, but i chose to buy a graphics card, microwave and lots of other things i didn't really need instead.
I have my priorities and I guess replacing a squeaky boxspring mattress and the like isn't one of them.:awe:

*crap, I hope the IRS doesn't see this thread...yeah, was kidding guys I only make $12k. prove me wrong!

I loser :$

at least get a new bed. thats one of the most important things one has. even if youre ok with it, if shes not then its probably stressing her out a lot more then you realize.

I make under $40k. don't care who knows but I do pretty well with it really, I think anyway, own a home, just bought another brand new car, every TV in the house is over 32", laptops, nice gaming rig, ipad, 2 consoles, buy any game i want and just purchased a 680gtx directcu 2 should be here tomorrow I hope. heck i'm happy in life.
But I have a credit score of over 800 too so that helps. I always tell younger guys to work on that credit as soon as you turn 18.

This, I live within my means and for the area I live in, I make a lot more then most people. I am grateful for my job even though I dont like it somedays I am thankful to have it.

If you're going to get a PhD anyway, why get the master's degree first?
