between 130 and 140. the general consensus amongst my football-loving colleagues is that i'm dumb.
test was modified for age.

i can relate to slugg. when i was younger, i simply did not care and would have not been able to find a reason why i need to focus on the test, why are these weird squares colored like this, why am i taking a test but nobody explained how this works, why am i supposed to figure this out by myself?

This is why I laugh at anyone who thinks IQ is indicative of anything at all. Yeah, the entire capacity and capability of your brain can be folded into a single number ... LOL

Beethoven couldn't multiply numbers. When he needed to multiply for his finances he wrote out the equivalent addition problem and just added over and over again. There are many different types of intelligence!

Having said that, my IQ is 250.

uh, yes and no.

pattern recognition is a pretty big thing for humans. and while the test might not mean much by itself, statistically, people who score 130 are smarter than people who score 80.

Meh, took it and only missed 1 question that is debatable as to the right answer. The one about a finger is to a hand as a leaf is to a...Answers were

Twig, Branch, Tree... and 2 other non tree related items that weren't even close. The two that stand out are twig and branch, which can be the same thing depending on where you are from and the vernacular in your area. Typically though on calls a twig, or switch something that is plucked off the tree and isn't growing anymore. So I picked branch and the system said I was wrong. From my vantage branch is still the better "fitting" correct answer unless the comparison was to a hand ripped off someone. For reference to what I got on this silly test...

To the right it shows 186. This test is I guess ok for a test against people's spacial and orientation abilities as well as a few math abilities. Nothing I would state would be a close test to an "intelligence quotient" like the more elaborate ones are better at.

Although if asked, I did take a few of the bigger more elaborate IQ test in the past when I was kid for school as well as DLab and the Asvab for the military. I was around mid 170s if memory serves me, 99 on all the asvabs, over 110 on the dlab, and I got a 1399 on the old SAT back in the day (I wasn't really even trying to take that test as I was forced to take it with the flu). I'm not dumb, but even I recognize the silliness of these tests when it comes to measuring people's "intelligence" on a scale.

IQ tests were more viable until the 80s, where pattern recognition was something you'd need to have innately, and not something which, idk, video games are based on. or that you can read in a book called "how to win an IQ Test".

Well, there are many people that don't do good at pattern recognition nor spacial awareness regardless how much they practice. My wife is one such person :D Love her to death, but she wouldn't do well on this test.

I have but one question:Can you hammer a 16-penny nail home in 3 hits?

Yes. I'm not a small guy nor wimpy nerd. More than a few long time members here have met me in real life and know my physique. I'm not some 'roided out person either. Actually right now I'm quite a bit rounder than I'd like to be thanks to my wife's recent pregnancy which got me to put on a bunch of sympathy weight.

I got 127. The number sequences screwed me, and I got bored and skipped a couple of them. I may or may not have eventually gotten them with more time :shrugs:

I don't know, probably full retard.

I did learn about what 20 ads looked like, that Ralph is probably on the Autism Spectrum, and I hate doing these tests and get bored half-way through while asking myself why I need to feel validated then think back to my school days and all the elitist dip shits in school (teachers and students) who bragged about these things while shitting on "losers" who got <90% grades but have ended up "average."

P.S. Fuck off. I essentially skipped the last 5 questions and the site from OP says my IQ is 132. The last one I took last year said 115 to 130.

I took one many years ago in school. I tested at 156. They kept pulling me out of class to put me in these advanced classes with a few other students in the school. I thought it was kinda neat at the time.

I had a grade 12 spelling level in grade 2.

well, here is the bit where i do a sob story and you all guys tell me how much you love me n all that.

i am lonely. very much lonely. so lonely .. that i've started mentioning AT to people IRL. people who have some sort of connection to IT.

still to find ONE who knows about AT, OCnet, H, or anything which remotely resembles actual hardware news.

don't be confused by how everyone here has over 100 ... it's not that the test is broken. If you are here, chances are you have above-average intelligence. And intelligence is self-reciprocating, onmce you find that you are smart, you tend to do more smart things, study more, read harder material .. easy to break out of the herd.

TLDR: test works fine, 100 is still the median. We are special.

Ah, good times from school. Getting all those red marks and comments about having spelling mistakes. Now the computer automatically checks it for me.

Was administered an IQ test around 3rd to 4th grade in order to qualify for a special academic program, and then at 18, by shrinks or social workers or whomever does that stuff. Forget the first one's results but the second was 139. The 99.53% percentile. Unfortunately that didn't translate into too much success due to other issues such as drugs for nearly 10 years. *shrug*

I didn't take the time to verify the number of rectangles.
