Special occassion breakfast, I like to make cream cheeze & blueberry strata

8-10 (1/2 inch thick) slices of French bread, cubed into large chunks and air dried/oven dried
1 package cream cheeze, cubed into small pieces
fresh blueberries (1 to 2 pints)
6 large eggs
1 3/4 cups half-and-half

night before:
place 1/2 dried, cubed bread crumbs in an 8-inch buttered baking dish
sprinkle with 1/2 of the cubed cream cheeze
sprinkle with 1/2 of the blueberries
repeat for second layer
mix your eggs and half-and-half, pour over contents in dish
cover dish with saran wrap, weigh down and refrigerate over night (or minimum of 1 hour)

heat oven to 325
let dish stand at room temp for 20 minutes
remove wrap and bake for 50-55 minutes (or until edges get puffy, brown and begin to pull away slightly from edges of pan)
cool for 5 minutes before serving

Note: cream cheeze and blueberries can be substituted for veggies/cheeze/sausage/etc. just be sure to precook the contents in a skillet and drain well prior to putting into strata or it will end up runny

That sounds mighty tasty, but how can one or even two people consume that in one sitting?

I like coffee, that's my favorite breakfast! Then again, I'm an addict.

I do really like eggs too, over-easy or poached.

Scrambled eggs with bacon and sausage with the Pilsbury flaky biscuits and some orange juice. Unfortunately, nowadays my breakfast consists of a protein shake, some fruit, and some other assorted items

Scrambled omelet made with venison sausage, fresh tomatoes, green onion, cheddar, and some hashbrowns on the side. Big cup of coffee too. Haven't had that in a couple of years though. :(

Biscuits and gravy, two eggs over-medium, home fries sauteed with onions, a side of sausage links, and a big pot of coffee...

There's a local place where I can get just that for only $3.95.

Damn, I'm hungry now! Too bad I'm stuck at work...

Hmmm, I have an hour before work. I need to take a shower, read for a bit... maybe I'll make a small bowl of cereal as well (scrambled eggs alone do not up me fill).

I usually have a Banana and Toast with Peanut Butter on it. Add a glass of OJ and a glass of milk, and you got a healthy nutritious breakfast.

Of course, on the weekend, I make my patented microwaved breakfast sandwich:

2 strips of bacon -- microwave for 2 1/2 minutes or 'til crispy. Break each piece in half when serving so that it'll fit.
One egg -- beat white and yolk together as if you're making a scrambled egg, pour into a bowl, cover, microwave for 1 1/4 minutes
English muffin -- toast to your liking. Spread butter on while still hot after toasting
Kraft Single -- Put on after butter so that it melts easier.

Add Tobasco Sauce, Salsa, or whatever you want.

It's AWESOME! :)

Well, I start out with a tumbler full of vodka to get rid of the shakes....

Kidding...I'm usually not up until lunchtime.

For those that have never experienced Waffle House...

Scattered = not in formed condition
Smothered = onions
Covered = Cheese
Chunked = Ham
Peppered = Peppers

I pass on the chili and tomatoes.

Now that I live on the Left coast I can no longer get my favorite breakfast.:(

Menu

You have ventured to a far away land, where mammoth waffle houses do not roam the exits?
'tis a pity, 'cause nothin' beats a Waffle House at 2 AM after a concert.

To answer the question, four slices of bacon, four eggs (scrambled with a bit of milk, pepper, salt, Lea & Perrins and oregano), cram as much as will fit at a time between english muffins or bagels. Occasionally a bit of salad beforehand.

Lots of black coffee.

Warmed up leftover pizza from the night before. :D

OR one of my wife's excellent breakfast burritos. Egg, sausage, bacon and potato in a flour tortilla.

As long as it starts with Starbucks, it's good.

BUT - preferences are:

scrambled eggs w/cheese
sausage/bacon
pancakes with butter and apricot syrup

more Starbucks, cream and sugar, please :)

Cold pizza hut pepperoni pizza. Just enough residual grease to get the system started.

Omlet for those of us who just don't have the knack for folding :)
sausage/bacon
can't go wrong there.
pancakes with butter and apricot syrup
Apricot? What does it taste like? Can there really be something better than some vermont maple?

Starbucks is OK, but hardly good enough for breakfast, IMO.
