The house has passed 14 bills to reform the VA in the wake of all the VA bull shit yet they all sit on Harry Reid's desk. This truly is the jackass party and it goes to show you that they really don't give a shit about our veterans. I for one hope they all loss their asses in November. Fuck you grabasstic assholes!

Who's to privatizing the VA? The feds have shown time and time again they can't run shit!

Harry Reid is what's wrong with the Senate. That's how it appears on the surface. But he's just carrying water for Obama. He's being a good little soldier.

The House has submitted hundreds of bills to the Senate to address a variety of issues. The Senate is where bills go to die. Obama and Reid would rather paint Republicans in a bad light than to actually work with them. That's the state of our government right now. And the faithful followers? Well they choose to ignore what is really going on too. We hear them parroting the government/media supplied talking points are all the time. Like our higher ups, it's better to ignore reality than to deal with it. We couldn't have a much more dysfunctional government. And like any business, the top dog sets the tone. Our Choom Gang Preezy is setting the standard.

As to the VA, I don't know what the answer is, but we already know what doesn't work. The .gov has failed. That "solution" can be scratched off the list.

Bills belong to a party. Republicans control the house, almost everything coming out of there belongs to them. When Republican bills reach the Democrat controlled Senate, they are rejected. Rather simple.

The Senate is too busy focusing on important matters like the name of the Washington Redskins to focus on political sideshows like veterans healthcare.

What's in those 14 bills? Are they even compatible w/ each other, or is this just the usual pander play from house Repubs?

They've rescinded funding for ACORN at least 37 times, which might be an indicator...

No shit. Reid's pea brain is obsessed with that. Just how many times do the Redskins have to tell him to fuck off before he quits?

Harry Reid doesn't have time to look at House bills, he's too busy trying to influence the Republican Lieutenant Governor primary in Nevada to ensure Brian Sandoval doesn't run against him in '16.

What's in those bills? Privatizing VA?
GOP had ample opportunity to pass those bills when they were in charge and those vets were getting maimed in Iraq fighting their war.

Let's see these VA bills! I bet they have some really patriotic and moving titles to them though.

Or it could be the minority party blocking legislation. . . which is allowed in the Senate?
Hey you, your intellectual dishonesty is showing.

I'm skeptical that any of the bills from the senate or the house will actually improve the VA system since it they don't address the structural limitations of the agency's funding. People wouldn't be manipulating the system to get bonuses if the system could actually handle the load being placed upon it in the first place. While VA funding has grown substantially it is unarguable that it has actually kept pace with what is being required of it. Being able to fire people easier for stuff like this is fine but if you never actually fix the real problems their successors will just find new ways to hide it.

The costs on the back and for our adventures in Iraq and Afghanistan are going to be huge and ongoing for decades.

What's in the bills?

It's a pretty fucking easy question to answer and it's been asked three times already with zero responses, why do you think that is?

I know this will start something that will never end. The VA's total satisfaction is very high and generally much higher than private care. The wait times are the problem not the care once the patient is in the system.

according to Obama the problem with the senate is the constitution - giving each state two senators what a terrible design according to him

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/may/23/obama-blames-structural-design-congress-gridlock/

Is there some factual error in what he offered?

I don't believe he said "terrible", either- he merely stated the facts, for the most part.

Oh, wait, I forgot. You have a problem with facts. They're sooo inconvenient for you.

This; people joke about buh bush! What they don't realize is when you elect a truly horrific president the things they do will be felt for decades. The consequences of grossly mishandling the results of deregulation/housing bubble/economic crash and the Iraq war will haunt this country for a generation if not two.
