Errr....?
Google?

If you must know, it's a fast food chain afaik, that sells burgers. (Never been though, I only know of it from Harold and Kumar, Beastie Boys, and the Ebay auction).

it's nasty. It used to be that they were good cheap food for when you have cravings. The current dollar menu items at McDonalds or Wendy's beat White Castle food by a long shot.

A burger place so revered they made a movie about it. :D

I had some White Castle burgers for lunch. :)

Their signature burger is about 2 inches square, topped with cooked onions and maybe mustard? Called "sliders" for the speed at which they move through your body :D. You don't usually eat one - its more like 4-15 at a time. I have a friend who claim's he'd split a case of 30 with a highschool friend.

I'd never had it before this summer, so my buddy and I hopped in his car and split a sack of 10. I seriously felt sick the rest of the day, but they tasted awesome.

Browse werk's link. I've never eaten there myself (not in my state). The website lists the 11 states they are in (between the midwest and east states). White Castle is based on a simple idea: serve just a few items (7 sandwhiches total), in small portions, and as cheap ingredients as possible. Look at the pictures of the burgers on the website and you'll see the "quality" products. The result is a very inexpensive place that makes McDonalds seem like it is for the wealthy. I imagine that taste is non-existant.

Yes, they are called sliders by WC regulars. No mustard though... just that little burger with onions grilled on top and a pickle slice or two. The darn things are addictive, I tell ya... lol.

the guy that invented the hamburger bun for the world's fair (in st. louis, iirc) founded white castle. so they are the original hamburger, at least as we know it today.

I don't know about this... I had a White Castle chicken sandwich on Saturday and it cost me $1.19. I can go to McDonalds and get a McChicken for almost double the size for $0.99. And it's tastier too. WC's was dry and hard.

WC used to be good when $1 menus didn't exist elsewhere.

They actually taste pretty good - Alton Brown had a recipe for similar burgers on his "Man Food Show" that I'm going to try eventually - I need a griddle first though.

We never had White Castle in Toledo until only recently, but they put both of them in REALLY bad neighborhoods. Bad as in last time I was visiting, we were craving them after getting back from the bar but none of us wanted to risk driving out there. Is that how it is everywhere? I know they have them in Columbus but I've never paid attention to the neighborhood.

well, you're wrong about that ! White Castle sandwiches are small, but made with quality ingredients. The main flavor of a White Castle hamburger is beef and onions, as mentioned they also have regular cheeseburgers and jalapeno cheesburgers which are very tasty.

Also, the chicken rings, fish sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, and fried onion chips, are all very tasty.

White castle is so cheap they put 5 holes in the beef patty of the hamburger to save meat. Thats how cheap they are. I remember seeing commercials years ago about how they advertised this cheap-o change with cows having 5 holes in them.

Open up your next hamburgers and you will see 5 holes in the patties. Its been like this for many years. Cheap skates I tell ya!

The chicken rings are the bomb though.

They also cook faster because of the holes, which according to "Unwrapped" was the original reason.

The marketing claim is that the holes allow the steam to circulate better, but it does look suspiciously like 5 holes = 1 slider.

But I'd rather have a slider with holes than a McDonald's burger without.

the holes don't make them cheaper, it's how they cook thoroughly without being flipped.
