Such a meeting at one location, would be a once in a lifetime opportunity for a foreign power to cripple our military.
Probably a few years too soon for it to be acted upon though.
Companies don't allow senior leadership to fly on the same plane for that very reason.

A potted plant would make a better Sec Def vs this drunken wife beater. I guess as long as he is not a person of color or a woman it's considered normal. DEI is our real problem 🙄🙄🙄

800+ generals and admirals have to drop whatever they are doing around the world, fly to Virginia, and then listen to this idiot yap for 1/2 hour and then head back to their jobs. Definitely no government waste there. Hegseth fancies himself an inspirational leader with non-existent leadership skills. This is what happens when you have substance abuse issues.
The Secretary of Jack Daniels doesn't even understand the core strengths of the US military (its logistics capabilities; it's basically UPS with guns).

Maybe something like this or a planned invasion of Venezuela?

'No government waste . . . " I appreciate your facetious remark. Consider the enormity of the waste and abuse Trump has imposed already -- everything from the firing/dismissal of civil servants who must eventually be rehired or replaced, to the cancellation of grants and federal share of such things as the CA high-speed train project -- the enormity of it goes on and on.

The man and his cabinet members all need to serve hard time, if there are in fact statutes that cover this sort of waste. Sooner or later, answers would come out of GAO if Trump doesn't have an ability to stifle them.

According to reports, he's bringing them all to VA to give them a talk on the "culture of lethality" or whatever the fuck that catch phrase of his is. How many millions of $$$'s will the DOD be wasting to bring ALL the senior command staff (and the staff that always travel with them) from ALL the military branches so they can essentially sit in on what should have been a Zoom meeting. All so DUI Pete can give a speech on "warfare mentality" to a room full of people that have DECADES more combat experience than him. And you know he'll have a big "Secretary of WAR!" sign in front of his seat.

Hopefully the top brass will use the time wisely and collectively agree on what their red lines are for when to overthrow these pricks, or at least to leave them hanging in the breeze when they counted on military support the most. A physical meeting is quite handy for reducing the potential for electronic monitoring.

I don't think we necessarily want to start a culture of literally overthrowing elected government with the military (at least not yet). But it could be good for them to get together to discuss the future and steps that they can take to ensure that they are abiding by authorized uses of force and whatnot; I'm sure many know all about slow-walking things too.

Who . . . Who? . . . ME-EEEE? Is the Gestapo or ICE coming to detain me?

Our government and its military tradition go back farther with less change than what happened in the Weimar Republic. Before that, the Kaiser. Russia, Germany, Japan needs some examination -- they didn't have a 1776-grounded military tradition. Our West Point goes all the way back, and all of this is through a history of important cases like Marbury-v-Madison, the attempts to hammer out new states as "compromises . . . the Civil War.

But I would keep an eye on this big meetup. Hegseth is an idiot. He doesn't know what he's doing, and so he's fine with just doing what Trump wants him to do.

If you had kids in the military, would you advise them to desert? Of course, that gets carved up in different ways. Just like the Civil War.

While I agree with you on the surface.. I think people here are still under the illusion we'll go back to normal after Trump's term ends.

The sad thing is that we've not come to realize we live in a post-MAGA world. It didn't happen bombastically like 9/11 so we've still not realized it.. but everything Obama tried to fix.. we've reverted even further back than we realized.

We still don't fully realize SCOTUS handed W. the election and we look back on it now like no big deal.. what makes you think the right thing will be done. And by this MAGA courts and congress and administration you think they'll respect elections or the military?

I don't even need to sell you this.. you already know.. but you're still in denial of sorts that this is really happening.

It's the same for everyone.. but we have to realize in a post MAGA world.. America doesn't work. Only small pockets of communities/ states do.

For them the billionaires.. maybe their useful idiot farmers/ voters.. but not the general public.

For us maybe the hardcore leftys and those that will travel to stay in our confines for our liberal way of life.

But it just doesn't work if we stay together.. its a war of attrition and we're losing ourselves in it.. have to call it quits and end the 249 year experiment and start a new one with lessons we learned from the previous one.

Yes people will be hurt but people are getting hurt now and not even realizing it! So what do we really have to lose?

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO WAIT FOR?!?

Masked men on the streets, abducting people
Concentration camps
Where the hell is your red line?

The only thing you should be worried about is starting a culture of tolerating that shit (as well as the tonne of other warning signs that have been flashing like a fucking radiation warning light)!

Christ man, I've been wondering whether I need to tone down my rhetoric because of terms like "stochastic terrorism", but I have to say, the only reason why fascists get away with the shit they've been doing is because the public lets them. Wake the fuck up.

And it's not just fascism.. it's the system that allows fascism to be created that's the problem as well!

Dear Leader will attend the big military meeting.
Sounds more like a coup by the day. All so they can declare war on and deploy against the United States homeland.
Or maybe Dear Leader just wants his ass kissed. Hard to guess when the fascists will make their next move or just another performative theater.

The Don will attend Hegseth's meeting with generals.....

I really hope it's not so, but it sure looks like Trump wants to bring our military services under his heel. Stay and be a servile lapdog of the president or get fired for being loyal to The Constitution under which they swore to serve.

If this is what Trump is after, this meeting should be quite the momentous clash between fascism and democracy.

Given the incompetent unqualified trash Trump filled his cabinet with, I shudder to think what his Flag ranks would look like after he gets done filling it with sycophant traitors.

But these Generals I would assume have seen actual combat. Where POS has only seen courtroom drama.

Would not be surprised if someone takes a shot to the jaw.

My grandfather was at one time the senior lawyer for the GAO. I still have his miniature government GAO pin.
