I have this thing on my back. It's a little painfull, and it looks like a mini-quatto is going to pop out and tell fortunes anytime now.

It's a large picture. Be sure to view the full image for details.

Not sure what it is, but whatever it is,..... I highly recommend you have your wife pop it and take videos and post in OT.

Heh, no thanks. This thread is about as far I dare to go with my own self-humiliation.

I would NOT recommend popping it, you could fuck up and end up with more of those that way.

Well, it looks like the safe thing to do is cough up the $40 copay today and get rid of it. 40 bucks for popping a zit... dammit.

Just when I think I could consider going to college to be a doctor or nurse. There are these threads that start out innocent and then I find links to stuff that makes me want to barf. Thank you for reality checks..

Go to doctor, they can either lance it and pack it or you may get away with a z-pack of antibiotics.

Personally, I would make my wife take care of it :p

Jesus, quit being a pussy and just lance it already! You are probably one of those types who sees a Dr. for any little thing. Uh oh, you have a sniffle, better see the doc!

cyst. sterilize area and razor blade with alcohol, make incision across surface. squeeze out sebum until it don't come out no more.

if it comes back in a few months, suck it up and go to the dr. he'll do more advanced surgery which involves cutting out the sac.

IMO, I would go and see a doctor about this one.
I've seen people who tried to lance it on their own and several of them must have done something wrong in the process of sterilizing the area and/or their instruments which then created a more serious infection with MRSA that required inpatient admission with IV antibiotics.
In comparing the current cost of inpt admission for IV antibiotics vs cost of outpt provider visit, I would suggest taking your chances with the outpt provider who has (1) sterile tools, (2) years of training which include knowledge of important anatomical structures like nerves and blood vessels, (3) years of real clinical experience in which theyve lanced thousands of cellulitis lesions, and (4) oral antibiotics you'll possibly need to help fight off the infection that had previously been walled off in a sac by your immune system before someone cut into the area and its surrounding skin/blood vessels.

I went to the doctor and took care of it. I would have done it myself, but for one thing, I can't reach that part of my back, and for another thing, my girlfriend has a really weak stomach. Oh, and also, I have no friends. The doctor was nice, even after being squirted in the face twice.

1 squirt = $125 added to the bill.

You're in for two-fiddy.

You don't need friends to cut your back open. You need enemies. That way you know they'll really go for it.:D
