I am going to be in Dallas next week. Any recommendations on restaurants, things to do or see would be appreciated.

Thanks

If you're a hot chick, you can do me. j/k

The grassy knoll.... where JFK got shot. They have a pretty decent museum. You get to go to the actual window where LHO did his thing.

If you are into malls, there's a really huge mall on the north end of Dallas. The Galleria.

If you like dirt and cowboy boots, head west to Fort Worth.

Lots of sports. Texas Rangers play in Arlington, their minor League team Roughriders play in Frisco (n of dallas), and the Mavs play at the AAC in Dallas. They have a good nightspot at the West End. Plenty of eats and usually live music on the weekends. Deep Ellum is also a good nightlife spot.

That is about it. Dallas can be pretty boring unless one of the sports teams is going.

Six Flags and Texas Rangers are in Arlington.

Check out Deep Elum, that is where the clubs are. Or if you are not into clubbing there is an area called Lower Greenville that have bars (and some clubs).

If you are not too big into drinking or clubbing you may want to jet over to Fort Worth and hang out in Sundance Square (downtown Ft. Worth).

During the day if you are an outdoor type person, go to White Rock lake just east of downtown Dallas. There is an Aquarium and zoo in Dallas however the zoo over in Ft Worth is much better. Again in Ft. Worth there is the muesum of Science and History as well as the Omni Theatre, which is totally awesome. It has some screen that is kinda like a dome and the seating is real steep; it really makes you feel that you are in the movie.

Mansion is an expensive reastuarant so unless you would want to splurge I couldn't recommend it.

There is a decent Tex-Mex place in the West End (Dallas) called Cadillac Bar and Grill.

If you want to find stuff yourself, check out Guide Live

Fort Worth
Stockyards: pretty cool
Sundance Square: in downtown Ft. Worth... good place to take a date, plenty of bars, shopping, and neat places to hang out
Art Museums: west of downtown Ft. Worth are a bunch of fantastic art museums and science exhibits, near Will Rogers Colleseum
Omni Theatre: In museum of science and natural history, great shows... must see! $7/ticket
Ft. Worth Zoo, off University Drive a little south of I-30, they have some awesome exhibits for animals.
Botanical Gardens: Some of the nicest gardens I have ever seen. At University/I-30
To eat: go to Reatta (Texan, Expensive), or Uncle Julio's (Mexican)

Arlington
6 Flags Over Texas: tons of rides, rollercoasters etc. Very fun. Park entrance is like $25
Ballpark in Arlington: Watch the Rangers play. Great ballpark. Eat at the TGI-Friday's overlooking the stadium.
Hurricane Harbor: Across the highway from 6 Flags, this is a giant waterpark also owned by 6 Flags. Very fun.
River Legacy Park: Miles of trails through the woods. Off Green Oaks Ln.
To eat: go to Mac's Bar and Grille, a great restaurant that is a really classy and expensive atmosphere but low price ($6/plate) I-20/Little Rd.

Dallas
Deep Ellum: A lot of live music and bars, more of a grunge type crowd East of Downtown on Elm St.
Greenville: A bunch of bars and clubs, little nicer than Deep Ellum. on Greenville east of I-75
West End: More trendy warehouse district, bars, they have a pair of Hooter's,
Northpark Mall: Northpark Blvd./I-75 Expensive stores (nieman marcus, saks, etc.) , part museum... modern sculptures inside too.
Galleria: A nice mall on 635/Tollway, many unique stores, has skating rink
American Airlines Stadium: Mavericks and Stars play here. Nice stadium... I dont think there are any games soon though.
JFK/6th Floor Museum: In southern outskirts of West End, where JFK got shot, pretty cool, admission is like $6/person
Dallas Aquarium: Nice aquarium near West End, its pretty cool, should check out
Reunion Tower: Restarant at the top of the tower, its the building that looks like a lollipop, downtown dallas
Arts District: Dallas Museum of Art near Downtown, great sculptures and works of art
Myerson Symphony Hall: Symphonies...
Uptown: Trendy places with unique restaurants, bars, and shopping. north of downtown. Can ride McKinney Ave Trolley all the way from Uptown to downtown's arts district.
Mideval Times: Off I-35E in Dallas, interesting to watch, terrible food
Malibu Speedway: I-35E/Wallnut Hill, can race go karts!
To eat: Bob's Steak and Chop House (best steaks ever), Mansion on Turtle Creek (Expensive), McKinney Ave. Tavern (bar), Hard Rock Cafe, can't go wrong really anywhere....

Grapevine
Downtown Grapevine: a historical old town with old shops... looks like a western town.
Grapevine Mills Mall: a giant mall with a Gameworks, and Virgin Megastore, etc.
Lake Grapevine: Go sailing, or boating

Misc
There are some outlet mall north I-75 to Allen (city)
Bone Daddy's is a great place, on Lake Lewisville
rent boats on Lake Lewisville

There is a Maggiano's in North Park Mall, which is off US 75 and Northwest Hwy.

Gallaria is an okay mall, big mall with expsenive shops (ditto that with North Park), but for reality I love The Parks Mall in Arlington. There are probably about 20 malls in the area, but I think Parks may be the best. Grapevine Mall is okay, but it is a pseudo-outlet mall trying to be dressed up as a 'normal' mall.

bone daddy's

Hell yeah :D Spring Valley and 75. Think Hooters but with better food and better women :)

Deep Ellum is fun if you're into music, Greenville is a buncha trendy bars and stuff, it's ok, not quite my bag. West End is alright, as is the Arts District and the Myerson. I got to play there a couple times, it's an amazing place :)

There's always big attractions like the zoos, Six Flags, etc etc.

i heard the mansion was a great restuarant.

If it's on the company card maybe ;)

Dallas has a lot of subrubs around it that have pretty fun stuff as well. Addison has a decent nightlife, and Plano has a ton of good spots to eat.
