in my other 401k plan, an inactive plan, they're going to swap some funds for an 'equivalent' fund during 2006.

i was wondering if i should allow this to happen or close out the plan by rolling it into my active plan.

here's the conversions:

Fidelity Intermediate Bond Fund to Fidelity US BOND INDEX

FIDELITY VALUE FUND to Neuberger Berman Genesis Fund - Trust class

Fidelity Growth and Income Fund to Spartan Equity Index Fund

Fidelity Capital and Income Fund to Fidelity US BOND INDEX

Fidelity Aggressive Growth Fund to Managers Special Equity Fund

Fidelity Diversified International Fund to American Beacon Int'l Equity PA

YTD: 4.86%
3yr Avg: 15.06%

I didn't start mine until 2002, so no big losses in 2001.

do you count or not count the employer match?

seems to me since it is "free" money you can count it, but i dunno if that is what you meant

I might want to mess with the Contrafund... 17% ytd, 18% 3yr. Maybe 100% of future contributions to it, then shift 100% of its balance over to FUSEX annually for capital preservation... lather, rinse, repeat?

depends on when you started working and what kind of lifestyle you wish to maintain, which kinda depends on what you're grossing.

My 403b returned 39% overal. (extremely agressive, but I just started 403b in Feb and I'm also only 26, 39% + almost nothing is still almost nothing)
