It's only the worst because it's so flippin' expensive. Is it really any worse than cheap market stuff?

Why yes, yes it is. Glad you asked. I'd take any variety of maxwell, folgers, CFON, hell even that cheapo cafe bustillo stuff. Please not starbucks. Not in a cup, not in a bag, not in a can, not in a mug, not with a i love you, not in a van.

Work buys the Folgers "original" in the pre-measured packets. That stuff is horrible. Absolutely horrible.

Why is it that EVERY workplace coffee tastes like dishwater?, this seems to be a world-wide phenomenon. Anyway in response to OP's question I would rate Dollar-General as "morning sunrise" as the worst, it barely tastes better than re-used grounds..

I like to pretend that my work coffee is terrible... in reality, I just don't know how to use the machine (it's like 3 machines, really, and I don't understand how the whole fangled contraption works)... so unless there happens to be a full pot when I'm in the kitchen, since I can't make a new pot I go downstairs and either go to Gregory's (NYC chain, pretty good but expensive; on the plus side, it's right across the street) or Dunkin's (3 blocks away, but cheaper and they actually serve food if I'm hungry for breakfast)

Yea, at my last job the "sanitation" manager was going to use bleach on it before I stopped her and explained why your supposed to use vinegar instead.

Coffee served at the church. Tastes like hell.

BTW, watch out for too much Starbucks if you value your health. I was blood testing with really high triglycerides [TGs} (like over 300mg/dl) and Dr said prolonged high levels typically are heart attack precursors. Research indicated that once consumption exceeds 450 mg daily of caffeine, then this frequently results in blood serum TGs sky rocketing. Turns out a SB coffee typically contains about 450 mg of it.

(Have a friend who used to eat a gallon of chocolate ice cream daily. He went in for blood work and tested like 1200 mg/dl TG. Dr said that he never saw anything that high ever before. And yes, my friend finally did get his heart attack.)

Years back, we ran out of coffee at work. Someone went to the store and bought a big can of what I presume was the cheapest coffee there, "Master Chef". It was quite bad.
