qacwac...

Though I'll be the first to raise my hand, I'll also be the first to warn you:

Posts like this will do more damage to your cause than they will good. A quieter presence will do more good, let people get to know your beliefs through your posts. Otherwise you'll end up like MrPALCO.

qacwac- It's unfortunate people are too unbelieving to believe you, but some of us know you're right.

Off the spiritual record, though, assuming things just continue on without divine intervention, it will be our incredible loss of biodiversity.

We're witnessing the 6th great extinction, folks. The loss of biodiversity is like the snowball effect. When one thing goes extinct, it causes another to go extinct, which causes another, which could cause 2 more, which could cause 4 more, and on and on.. They say that we're up to 12 species(including microbial) a day. That in itself is an incredible lost resource. Nearly all, if not all, of our drugs and medicines, have roots in nature. We haven't even begun to break the surface of most organisms out there, esecially microbial. We haven't even found all the insects on the planet, believe it or not.

A team of seven american scientists said in 1988 that the loss of the Earth's biodiversity is a threat second only to thermonuclear war. They said by the year 2000 we will have lost around 33% of all biodiversity on the planet. I am not sure if that figure held up or not. They estimated that by the year 2050, we will have lost 66% of all biodiversity on the planet. Any biology-type will know that this is an absolute disaster.

So yeah, what Hominid said, our own ignorance/stupidity.

Through man's never ending quest to improve his lot in life, he will evolve the world into self destruction as we know it and then revert back to the hunter -gatherer. Then he will be in tune with the earth and probably be happy. The only hardship beyond the daily need to hunt, is to learn how to deal with the styrofoam encrusted in the earth's surface. He will eventually find uses for this wonderful new discovery and start mining it. It's importance in making stuff float will put the demand far greater than the supply. There will also be a lunatic fringe who will smoke the stuff for it's hallucinogenic effects. This will once again start the ball rolling as enterprising young men will turn into mining magnates and styro-cartels will spring up in south america to import the stuff........(to be continued)

Thank you for your comments. To those that do believe glorifying God and enjoying Him forever is our ultimate purpose, what do you all believe is the authority on how to glorify Him and enjoy Him.

Just as a hint as to what I believe you can check these.
2 Timothy 3:15-16, Ephesians 2:20, 1 John 1:3-4, Luke 16:29-31

And to everybody else what is the authority for you.

Thanks for replying.

toolgirl you speak more truth than most people realize. I don't think there is anything worse that a man can do for himself then marrying an ungodly woman. It can in some ways be his "end." But there are few things more beneficial to a man than to marry a godly woman. I would define a godly woman as one who fits the qualifications that Proverbs 31 lays out.

boy, you aren't afraid to share the gospel qacqac, are ya. I too have beliefs like you, but I have learned that Anandtech probably isn't the best place to share them since it is more computer oriented.

Yeah, some of the people on here are intolerable of others views and want to tick off the ones who said what they don't agree with. Apparently they can't handle the magnatude of freedom of speech. :)

Thank you for your input wviperw. But I don't believe I have shared the gospel. The gospel literally means "good news" and the only real good news in the Bible is Jesus Christ. Without Him it is just a bunch of rules and regulations that only show us how sinful we are and how we will perish in hell. But with Him it truly is good news. Great news. In the above I did not mention this because I did not think it would be received well. (I'll probably get flamed just for writitng this) Explaining true salvation by faith alone and not of works and yet explaining how we are saved to do good works would be quite a task. My purpose in this was to see if there were any people on anandtech that have similar religious convictions as me. If you do then I am very interested in finding out what you believe. I have met many so called "Christians" who say they believe the Bible and yet it is apparent that they do not. So if you desire to speak then send me an email at qacwac@truthmail.com

Or anyone else that wishes to explore the inexhaustable mysteries of the Bible

Thanks again.
