What is the Soul?

What exactly is the composition of human consciousness? What separate a dead body from a living body? For all of the scientific explanations for parts of the human body, no scientist has given any real explanation for what the soul is. One theory is that consciousness is composed of the electromagnetic pulses being fired within the brain, and that this constitutes the substance of the soul.

It's used for wagering in rock paper scissors, other than that I'm not sure what purpose it holds or what it's really good for.

I once offered a girl my soul for sex. She turned me down. These born again Christians go on about how much a soul is worth, but won't take one for no more than 3-4 minutes of not entirely disagreeable work? That's when I knew it was all a load of BS.

Merely an attempt to explain why we see things the way we see them. There is no "Soul", just some peoples(mostly from the distant past) inability to understand the concept of Consciousness.

there is no soul? Then what is it that makes you alive? What is it that makes you distinctly you?

Why do you assume that you are distinctly you?
Life and not life can sometimes be a little hard to determine in truth. When exactly is a person alive and not alive? It really is a matter of your definition, not some nebulous concept of a soul.

the soul is an immaterial substance, hence it is not possible to locate in one's body, though it is closely related to it. a good question to ask is how something immaterial, like the soul, can interact with the body. if you find the answer let me know 🙂
