for me it would have to be getting a new mobo. The old K7S5A has served me well, but she is past her prime. I need something with onboard usb 2.0, firewire, and would like dobly digital onboard as well.

So what would you guys like to change?

New processor and ram. I know it is two things, but they complement one another.

DVD burner. I need to learn more about them, and find one for a good price.

I would pretty much change everything. I spent a good amount of money on my computer over 3 years ago and it has served me well all this time, it is still great for most things.. but the very latest games and upcoming games are putting an end to that. I hope to move to a P4 system with an awesome video card, if things go as planned it should be wayyyyy faster then what I have now.. it's great when upgrades are justified

I wouldn't mind some more RAM. An LCD would be nice but my CRT has been great for years now.

I hear what you are saying. My beast is 3 years old as well. Well, the mobo and processor are. I have upgraded everything but those. I just spent an hour on newegg picking what components I really want. For $997 I can double my processor speed, double my ram, move back up to a 17" LCD, get a mobo that has everything I want, and a case that would serve the purpose. The fall is fast approaching, so my income should just about double then. I plan to build my new monster as soon as I can justify the expense.

That's what I'm currently drooling over.

I also need to dump this PC2100 RAM and get some PC3200.

I'd love to add a DVD burner. My old Smart & Friendly 8X SCSI CD burner is still working fine, but I'd like to be able to burn 700 meg discs and burn DVDs.

Another video card and an 18" LCD to go with the 17" one I already have. TV Tuner would be nice too. :)

Vid card...got an old gforce2 gts/pro. I dont wanna upgrade it until I upgrade everything else tho.

Or should I upgrade now?
Got a 1.33 t-bird with 512ram. Would it be worth upgrading the vid card?

Old sblive also but if I upgrade that then I need new speakers.

i wish to have better video on my laptop

i don't need a bigger hard drive
i don't need a bigger screen..the size of the notebook is really fine.
only the video is not good enough..since it comes with a 16M intergrated on board video.
