What is the NRA about?

So this came out a couple months back, but I'm seeing it bubble up again in various places on social media and whatnot.

WTAF is up with the NRA if this is the kind of thing that they are using to drive people to support... wait.. gun freedom? Was that even in the ad?

If you do support the second, I hope you back the ALCU and not this industry lobbying group.

Also, I hope you're not itching to open fire on your fellow citizens, despite the message of this ad telling you there's a mob coming to get you... with celebrities and the police?

I'm not the target audience, clearly.

Get it? Target audience. I'm hilarious.

@jackstar7: triggered, heh. And apparently dual-wielded, if this guy up here is any indication. Those $50 are gonna show up during his life review, you can be sure of that...

Can you shoot me an answer to this query: Why do you support the NRA?
Secondarily, why the NRA over the ACLU?

I am greatful for the 2A first and foremost. I don't put the NRA over any org. Whats the point in that?

To give you an answer, the same reason many support Planned Parenthood.

Because someone supports PP, do they agree with 100% of their actions? Probably not but first and foremost belief the state should not put harsh limitations on what a person can do with their own flesh still stands. PP is the most prominent advocate for one who holds this view.

Do I support the NRA? Sure. Is that ad cringeworthy (like most dana whateverhernameis ads) nonetheless? Yes very cringey. Doesn't change what the NRA represents.

That's my honest answer.

Why the ad? Gun sales are down post Trump. Go figure, without Boogeyman Democrats threatening to "take your guns", sales are tanking. Businesses that depend on the sale of guns and ammo are hurting. I don't doubt that there's a correlation between gun sales diving and NRA fundraising. They need a new Boogeyman.

If anything the numbers have either risen or at the very least plateaued considering the left has their own tyrannical boogeyman now. Plus, right wingers don't suddenly cease buying new toys because an R is in office.

Cabela's Sees Decline in Gun Sales Post-Trump Win

Cabela’s (CAB) said Thursday demand for firearms and ammunition weakened in the first three months of 2017, citing the election of President Donald Trump.

Gun sales slow following Trump's election

Background checks on gun purchases declined in January for the second consecutive month, according to FBI data released on Friday, falling by nearly 20 percent compared to the same period last year.

Another big gun seller has been hit since Trump’s election

The largest independent gun retailer (Cabela's) in the US has slashed its sales forecasts since the election of Donald Trump as president, new securities filings show.
FBI background checks for gun purchases have fallen more than 12 percent since the election.

“We are experiencing unprecedented decline in demand for ammunition and firearms following the presidential election,” Mark DeYoung, chief executive of Vista Outdoor, said May 11 when the maker of gun brands like Bushnell and Savage Arms lowered its 2018 forecast.

Sturm, Ruger & Co., meanwhile, on May 8 reported that sales were down 3 percent in the first quarter and earnings were flat.

uh, no. Gun sales only climb during democratic administrations, as it is the best kind of red meat to get the single-issue voters pissing their pants and funding the tax write-offs for their wealthier betters through gun purchases.

This here is the gun industry's desperate attempt to find a boogeyman that is nearly as competitive as scary, black, possibly-not-even-an-american president. They will probably never have that kind of success, again. :D

It's a lobbying organization for gun manufacturers and gun store owners.

If the right to bear arms wasn't connected to their money train they wouldn't give a shit about it.

Ad works as intended then: red meat for the inbred, clueless, and constantly pants-pissing snowflakes among us (that means you, Taj...yes, we know, you're horribly ashamed of your micropenis and need a bigger pew-pew to compensate).

Somebody is triggered

I don't support the NRA. But if one were to support them. The easiest answer is the lack of 2nd amendment support from the ACLU.

The ACLU has been a bit busy lately fighting to protect the rest of the Constitution from the politicians the NRA helped elect.

Sure, that is a great excuse. But doesn't qualify them to be supported to support the 2nd amendment. They are great provided the right you want protected isn't the 2nd.

The purpose of the 2nd is to allow the people to protect their other rights and the rest of the Constitution.. The NRA has turned that idea on its head by consistently, election after election, supporting politicians who attack the Constitution. The NRA is no friend of Constitutional rights.
