What is the most expensive dinner you have ever had? (for 2 people)

350 for two of us.

peter lugers steak for two + onions and tomatoes + german potatoes + creamed spinach+ few bottles of wine...

i wouldn't have it any other way.

Most expensive... hmmm

We went to a fondue restaurant in Banff, Alberta that was pretty pricey. Not bad though, for two of us it was only about $125 and included (like someone earlier in the thread - LOL) cheese, meat and dessert. Very tasty but the jacket I wore there smelled like fondue for the rest of the trip 😛

Those were $1000 steaks.

But that probably doesn't count. 😛

Whew, what an experience! $1000 steaks indeed!

I think ~$200 for two people at Aquarelle in Austin. It was some insane 6 or 7-course meal with foie gras, goat cheese, caviar, and lots of other stuff I'll probably never eat again.

But it was good! :Q

~$250 at Tavern on the Green in NYC a few years back on Valentine's Day. Got serenaded by some dude with a violin at our table, and she got a rose from the bell captain on the way out. It was a nice night.

~$475 at Daniel in NYC on the day I proposed to my (now) wife.

Sadly, I wasn't a huge fan of the food, but the service was absolutely incredible (right down to putting the engagement ring in a silver platter and having the waiters 'present' it to her during dessert.)

i took a girl to McDonald's twice. she wanted to go there both times. i think it was just a pity date sort of thing because i wanted to actually go to a real restaurant but she didn't.

so yeah 🙁

Nice place and I pretty much agree with you. Wasn't crazy about the food either but everything else was terrific. Also been to the sister establishments - Cafe Boulud & DB, as well, with similar experiences. While I don't recall the most expensive meal, I must say that I recall the most expensive hamburger I've ever had, which was at DB. It was $27, and if you add drinks & dessert to that, it was over $100 for a burger based meal for 2. It WAS a good burger though, although I'm not really sure you can call it a burger anymore if it has truffles in it. 😛
