You weren't one of those bastards who drives under the speed limit in the left lane, were you?;)

75 is probably the highest I've seen...I have this vague memory of 80, but I can't substantiate it.

british columbia?

I saw 70 in GA the other day when I rode down to Duluth/ATL.

75mph many times driving across South Dakota.

Nothing like cruising across a state at ~84mph.

70 is pretty standard in Texas. Montana had no speed limit for a while. It was something like, drive a safe speed.

ive seen a 70 here in nc, i think

the road i live on was a 55, then they repaved and changed it to "resume safe speed"

people, usually, actually drive a safe speed on it.

Montana in the "reasonable and prudent" days was fun to drive in. Of course I only had my license for a brief time at that point.

And I got pulled over going 95 on a nice and clear sunny day. I was reasonable and prudent, with no car in ahead or in back of me for a mile. :(

Where were you at? Had to know where to drive fast even with the "no speed limit" days. Some towns cops are notorious. Also, if you were in the mountains/hills they didn't like anyone going above 85 really. Too many twists.

70 or is it 75 in Cali between Paso Robles & King City

I heard there used to be no limit in someplace like Wyoming or Montana, don't remember which one exactly. They called the limit "R&P" for whatever speed was "reasonable & proper."

75 is the highest number I've seen on a speed limit sign. 70 is the highest in my state.
