As someone said, it's definitely Twelve O'Clock High.

Outstanding movie.

Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo is also interesting for lots of reasons, not the least of which is it was made during the war and there's lots of footage of real bomber training.

there was a black and white movie about Pearl Harbor.

the ending, only one plane returned and the crews had to make a lot of sacrifices on the way home....., America saw them as heroes.

it was ... absolutely awesome... I don't have the name, but you know what I mean guys!?
I liked it as well but can't remember the name. The one I'm thinking was about a B17 crew enroute to Pearl just as the Japs hit. It was a hit when WWII was still going on.

Sounds like Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo. That's the one about the Doolittle raid, and a lot of the movie is about one American's crew ordeal after they crash land in China. It was made in 1944 and stars Van Johnson.

It was a different movie that came out before Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo was released. I use to watch it all the time. BTW they used the B25 (Mitchell's) in TSOT not the B17. The B17's were too large to launch from early carriers.

I can't believe no one has said Full Metal Jacket?

How exactly does this qualify? 😕

It qualifies plenty as long as you disregard the word "air" in the title. 🙂

Why not disregard the word warfare too, then you can just pick your favorite movie in any genre.

All of you people who say Memphis Belle, really ought to watch Twelve O'Clock High.

I liked Memphis Belle, but it's about 1/10 the movie Twelve O'Clock High is.

Is it me or does that WWI movie coming out tomorrow, Flyboys, feel like it's the only WWI thing coming out in years ? Maybe even the first air warfare movie in a long while...

As for the question: Tora Tora Tora (but i haven,t seen the blue max in its entirety nor thirty seconds over tokyo)
