On land:
110-120 using a '65 Chevy Corvair w/ no driver door

For work
Mach 2+ ~1600mph

110-115ish

I drove like a reckless asshole the first year or 2 of getting license/car.
I'm glad I only got pulled over the once doing a max of 80ish and didn't catch me doing 100ish on one of the nights coming home from class.
Now I drive almost grandma'ish cause I need as much life out of my piece of shit car till I can replace it.

145ish in 2008 mustang gt bullitt. IIRC just shy of its top speed, but ran out of safe speeding road. I still miss it, traded it in for a 2011 mustang.

Every time I pass on someone on the commute to work and back I get up to around 110 before I merge back. If I pass 2 cars, I get up to around 120. The longest pass I've done was 6 cars and I was going around 140 before I merged back and hit the brakes.

I am guessing that at the time, their radar didn't go very high. The ticket and judge said: "speeds in excess of 125 MPH".

125 mph in an Acura RSX. Early one Sunday morning on an empty stretch of parkway that did not have any exits for about 5 miles. I was following a Porsche.

Snapped the door off it's hinge backing up. 😳 Had to take 3 weeks to be able to get to a junk yard, get a replacement hinge set and put them on.

Makes you appreciate the seat belt when you can touch the pavement with your fingertips.

I can relate. Not my car though. It was my wifes ...sisters boyfriends car. He had a 98 NEON. He garage isnt wide at all. We got three feet of snow last year, and he wanted the NEON in the garage. So he put it in there. But what he didn't realize was.....with the driver side and passenger side mirrors stuck out too far to go in through the garage door. So he rammed the car in there. Knocking off both mirrors. I still laugh at him every time I see him.

132mph

scion tc

put my foot down, it got their so quick i didn't even realize i was doing more then 85,quickly slowed down because jail is no fun.

Driven
175 in a 2002 Camaro SS with some work done. Felt like liftoff was imminent.
145 in a 2004 Jaguar X-Type stock, hit the limiter.

Riding Along
206 (GPS verified) in a 2004 911 Turbo, also with some work done.

1969 442 W30 convert was my fastest car.....topped it out racing a Hemi Cuda back in 1974 in the southbound I-95 express lanes around 2AM, but have no real idea how fast that was. Figure it was over 130.......

Pushed a 1982 280ZX Turbo to its top end (supposed to be around 130) on the Frankenstein Bridge between Tampa and St. Pete.

Done over 100 with various other mechanical transportation devices.... motorcycles, cars, and the occasional truck.

Rarely get above 90 these days. No point in it and speeding tickets, even when you're well over 50 y.o., still hurt the pocketbook, esp. since GA passed the "super speeder" law, hitting anyone going 85+ mph anywhere in the state, or 75+ mph on a two-lane road, with an additional and separate $200 fine.

Besides planes, I didn't have a spedometer go high enough. Legally, where I actually know my speed? A ~38 second average lap speed of a 1.5 mile oval, or ~141 mph average in this: ( don't have my plaque on hand, so I can't give exact numbers)

117 on RT80 a few years back in a 1999 Grand Prix 3800 Series II motor.
The car has a speed limiter at that setting due to tire limitations (legal stuff)
Motor had more in it if not for the limiter. Traffic that section was very light.

126mph in 1997 BMW 740iL -- in upstate NY on the way to Montreal probably around Albany, NY --- wide open road no cars in sight... Sustained 125-126 for about 3 minutes on a pure straightaway before I got scared that I would make a mistake.

Would never have tried this if my brother in law wasnt in the passenger seat. He is a cop, and said I wouldnt get arrested in case I got pulled over lol.
