lol what year? My first car was a Ford Tempo and the top speed was something like 140km/h, so that's like 88mph or so. Damn thing only had 3 gears and it sounded like it was going to explode when running that fast. One guy in the car even commented "I think you just took five years off the life of the car"
He may have been correct since the car didn't even last a year.

ROFL yeah, I got a '94 Ford Escort 3-speed auto up to about the same speed, it sounded like it was the classic star trek enterprise trying to do warp 10. Everything was shaking, the drivetrain was shrieking, it was horrible. I doubt that car put 60hp to the wheels, and it was a rental with like 1200 miles on it.

100 MPH in a 1977 AMC Concord (maybe 1976, I forget). I used a hill to get that massive beast up to that speed. Probably the stupidest thing I ever did as a teenager. Luckilly, no cops and no accidents.

There is a road with a big hill where I grew up where we all did that kind of stupid thing. You know it was country because the name of the road was Big Hill Road.

That shit was tame compared to what I have done. I was trying to see how high my 3rd gear would go (4 speed auto) and I got to somewhere around 100mph as I was watching the speedometer. (I didn't hit the rev limiter. I'd remember that.) That was in a residential area with a speed limit of 35. It was a nice sunny day though. It was a long straight stretch with good visibility for the most part.

Luckily, cops don't usually watch that area too often.

I don't do this stuff anymore. I already got two tickets. I can't afford it. Most I do is 10mph over the limit.

I obtained my license in Schweinfurt Germany, went to Fahrschule Schodorf in 2002... my first car was a 1991 BMW E34 525i slushbox with very high mileage.

Fastest I ever drove that car was 256kmh on A7 between Werneck and Wuerzburg Germany, and you better believe it... I'm tired of debating with arm chair fools who say "no wai, that car couldn't go that fast derp"

Next car was a E39 2003 U.S. spec 530i slushbox, fastest 130mph (limited by speed governor)

Then a 2005 Toyota Tacoma V6 slushbox, 112mph limited.

2007 VW GTI slushbox, speedometer indicated 140mph, although its supposed to be limited at 130mph.
