Ok, here it is.

Here's the setup: this is an onramp onto the freeway that runs parallel to an offramp. There has been construction on occasion a few miles down the road, and it backs traffic all the way up to this onramp sometimes. When that happens, many people just cut across from the onramp to the offramp to take a different route.

So, one day when the traffic was backed up, I was heading onto the freeway on the onramp and saw a car headed STRAIGHT toward me. He slammed the brakes and stopped. Then he popped it into reverse and turned 90 degrees like he was turning around and floored it in reverse straight into the guardrail with a loud CRUNCH. I slowly drove by looking in the car; the guy driving was sitting there with his mouth open, looking very stupid. His girlfriend or whatever was sitting with her head down and one hand on her forehead like she couldn't believe it.

I had one of those damned Hummer H2s or 3s do that to me in my Geo Metro. I love pi$$ing people off. It was some middle aged man trying to act cool. So I kept the same speed on a 2 lane road so he couldnt pass me or this other car. When it turned to a 1 lane road I slowed down to F with him and he took the hint that I wasnt going to wimp out and move or speed up for his pleasures. So he back up after a brake check.

one time i was riding in my 85 yr old grandpa's car (he was driving) and he turned right onto a divided highway...on the wrong side and didint know until i started screaming like a little girl. luckilly, the light ahead had was red (it had just turned green) and he was able to pull through the center divider before the cars got there. that was scary it took weeks to clean up the puddle...

Two old men were in a new Dodge pickup towing some farm equipment in the wrong lane on a highway. Fortunately there were two lanes coming up the hill so traffic went into the far lane and onto the berm to avoid hitting this git. He apparently didn't notice and drove for another half a mile before he suddenly veered back into our lane.

My Dad and I were in the car at the time and we stayed well back from this guy!

Two things, both women.

First was at the DFW Airport, this lady somehow turned into an off-ramp and blocked traffic. She had the audacity to flip off my Shuttle driver even though where she entered there were three posted DO NOT ENTER and WRONG WAY signs.

Second was at an intersection in San Jose, CA. There is a double left, the left turn lane can turn left or U-turn, the right turn lane can only turn left. Apparently, this asian lady thought she was better than the law. She was in the right turn lane got halfway into the intersection, decided she really wanted to do a U-Turn so she cuts off the person in the left turn lane who was turning left and then almost rear-ends the person U-Turning. I wanted her to crash just so someone would smack her.

And then there are countless ones where people on their cellphones try to merge into my lane while they're driving parallel to me. I've learned to just stay there, cause I've seen other people swerve and get hit or hit someone else.

Driving home from work around 7PM during one of Atlanta's infamous Ice Storms of Death. There was me and another car going north on a 6 lane road (Peachtree Industrial). She was in the middle and I was trailing behind her in the right lane. The roads were already pretty slippery. Well, we come around a bend and she sees cop lights 50 yards ahead. The genius slams on her breaks and does a 180 in the middle of the road.

I drive past her laughing my rear off.

The dumbest move I pulled that I can remeber at this moment was when I decided to pass a car on the right side in the shoulder of the road...I was going 70 plus miles in my cream while chevy caviler station wagon 2.0

If you could have seen the guys face as we went by him it was priceless...the stuff you do on a dare when you have a car full of adolecent guys...

When I look back on it, I can't believe I used to pull crap like that...the car was weaving all over the gravel...we easily could have lost it and all died...

Oh and on a side note...I remeber a couple instances of egging on coming cars with 3 guys hanging out the windows and sunroof...again...stupid but amusing

Amen.

Or a Maryland plate.

1)Most dangerous/stupid thing I've ever seen: Driving home with my mother at abour 3am Saturday night on a two-lane windy road, we're about 2 cars from the front, in a line of about 6 cars. The very last car is a lifted Nissan or Toyota 80s pickup. This truck pulls out into the oncoming (eastbound) lane over the double yellow and passes all 5 of us, having to swerve off the road twice to miss oncoming traffic. If my cell had a signal at the time, I'd have called 911.

2)About 6 months ago, driving home on 9 west (same road as above), doing the speed limit in my mothers old van (she's driving), this truck in front of us about 2-3 car lengths suddenly stops from about 50 to a dead stop to turn left. He had no brake lights, and even at 3 car lengths, we barely have enough time to swerve onto the shoulder to avoid him. We missed his passenger mirror by about 3 inches, and the street signs on the right by 2.

3)This one is recent. My mom traded her van for an 02 Eclipse GT. Driving in to work one day at 5am, the ground is slick from fog and morning dew. She's coming down a left-hand hill curve, and an opossum runs into the road. Well, she nails the brakes. Hard. Her van had ABS, and the Eclipse doesn't. So, she locked 'em up, spun it in a 180 and bounced off the left-hand dirt embankment. Thankfully, her pride was the worst thing that got hurt, and after popping the plastic front bumper back out, the damage doesn't look as bad as it did (still will need new fenders, bumper and hood).

4) And finally, in Alaska years ago, I pulled into the left turning lane, slowed down to turn left, and without realizing what I was doing, pulled back into the traffic lane, still slowing down, with my blinker on. I nearly got nailed by a truck coming up from behind doing about 70. That incident scared me sh1tless.

This evening, actually about 3 hours ago now, I was driving I-94 north of Madison in my evo. I was in the middle lane, and some kid in a riced out something comes on my right side, revs his engine, and guns it, almost rear-ending a semi ahead of him. he swerves across the two lanes left of him, fishtails, pulls back and flies onto an offramp. damn ricers

I have over 900,000 miles logged as per my profession, and have witnessed a lot of stupidity during those miles. But by far the one that is at the top of the list was when I was a rookie driver going down I-83 north of Balitimore. As I was southbound driving a tractor with a 53 foot trailer loaded heavily an elderly woman was merging into traffic, and decided to stop as soon as she entered the interstate in order to hold back the traffic so the car following her on could enter. All this directly in front of me. I literally stood on the brakes.

There was a truck in the passing lane to my left, the stopped woman directly in front of me, the only way to go was to my right, and the car she trying to stop traffic for was right there, and so was my trailer since the wheels had locked and was almost directly sideways with the tractor. I remember the horror on the face of that driver as my trailer encroached upon her vehicle. She obviously stomped down on the throttle and for no other explanation but for the grace of God there was no collision. Simply amazing, the stupidity of that bonehead move. We all make mistakes but that one was way outrageous. I agree that the elderly drivers should be tested every so often for the ability to be compliant with COMMON SENSE!

Riding in the car with my mom on some back roads. She decides to slow down as she is passing a house she likes so she can look at it. Since she's looking at the house, and not paying attention, she doesn't notice she's trying to cross a 1 lane bridge at the same time as a bus..scared the crap outta me..there was also a time she drove in to a ditch as she was trying to put her makeup on while driving.

Finally get out into traffic and I can't pass because traffic was heavy and I had to wait. This car was still weaving and going slow and almost hit a couple of cars in the left lane. People are honking at him. I finally get to pass, look over and this dude is reading a map AND talking on a cell phone. Pull over dumbass.

NJ plates BTW.

I-83 in which state? If Maryland, I'm
PA, heh. Par for the course.

PA, Harrisburg to be specific...but the guy had NJ plates, not from PA.

Is it funny that 10's of thousands are killed innocently after getting hit by someone "driving after a few too many"?

LOL indeed! :|

FFS, 2 more.

We had to go through the same 4-way intersection twice. It's one of those things where it's only a 2 way stop. Anyways, my Mom lets an old guy with a cane cross the road. Of course, he was pretty slow. At the same time, somebody was waiting to cross the stopsign and somebody was turning onto the road. Basically it turned into one of those things where someone would move, somebody else would also. The guy behind started beeping the sh!t out of his horn. The old man that had just crossed the road had a good pair of lungs. I have no idea what he was yelling as it was in French, but I can assure you it wasn't nice. Eventually my mom stepped on it.

The 2nd time through the intersection (this time we had no stop sign). My mom, knowing better slowed down, then slammed on the brakes to 2 cars running one stop sign, and then another car running the stop sign on the other side.
