Chocolate chunks are so often made with inferior chocolate so IMHO chocolate chip is more often better.

The best cookie is my grandma's banana cookie. She's gone but I make them about just as well as she did.

If you're making chocolate chip cookies, use Trader Joe's semi-sweet chocolate chunks. It's like they were made to be put into chocolate chip cookies. Also, Alton Brown's The Chewy is the greatest chocolate chip cookie recipe ever, and it only gets better with the TJ chocolate chunks.

White chocolate chunk macadamia, alternatively mixed with dark chocolate chunk/chips.

Second favorite is white chocolate cranberry macadamia... I love white chocolate and macadamia. Honerable mention to double chocolate (chocolate cookie, chocolate chip) and butterscotch.
