What is the best computer game you've ever played?

GTA: SA.

It's not out for PC yet, but it's planned, and the PS2 version already beats the pants off anything I've played for PC yet (And that's saying a LOT - I *DESPISE* console games.
 
serious sam. the only game that ever made me say 'holy fscking sh!t' outloud.

in terms of total addiction... counterstrike. We'll probably get some haters in here, but this game has ruined way too many college kids gpa's. I know it killed my high school one. After that, I racked up a good 150 hours in Final Fantasy 7. I don't really get addicted to most games. I get bored easily
 
Hmmm Diablo 2 has probably sucked up the most time. I would say Diablo 2, Counterstrike, Neverwinter Nights, and probably World of Warcraft when it comes out are the best games I've played. For console, final fantasy (7-9. only ones I played) and xenogears were the best
 
if i was locked away and had to choose 1 game to play: i would say starcraft: brood war.

you can never get tired of starcraft, its replayability is freakin great, especially when you have mapedit.
 
No one says Half-Life? C'mon! That game still kicks ass!

Although, if we're gonna talk console games, Metroid Prime, Zelda: Wind Waker and the GTA games for Xbox have taken more of my time than any games in recent memory. Can't wait for Metroid Prime: Echos to come out in a few weeks. It's really the only reason I keep my Gamecube around to be honest.
