I think my favorite is Jimmy Dean but I've been wanting to try something else lately. What's your favorite breakfast sausage?

My lady would say it's mine.

You make your own sausage?

Do you slaughter your own pigs? 😛

Usually I have links as they are faster and easier to make but patties tend to taste better and jimmy dean do make some nice spicy ones.

When I make those I usually make some scrambled eggs with cheese melted on it and some buns to make breakfast sandwiches with.

patiently waiting for the elitist sausage makers to come in here suggesting that their homemade sausage is better than anything you can find at a market.

Well it definitely is. I'm not sure the effort would justify it though. I'd just go to a butcher shop and get some good sausage there.

But this whole argument is irrelevant because bacon > sausage.

I've been buying breakfast sausage from my butcher lately. It's pretty lean and tastes better than most other stuff.

Otherwise, I eat the Jimmy Dean turkey breakfast sausage. I just can't eat the stuff that literally swims in its own fat anymore.

I will respectfully disagree. For breakfast I really do like a couple sausage patties. Even more so when you crumble it in with scrambled eggs or use them on a breakfast sammich. And sausage just works better to mop up all the extra maple syrup on your plate that was left over from your pancakes or waffles.

What we can likely agree on is that the pig is an amazing animal.

Some might even say magical...
