I just got the Saitek Red Eclipse, which is pretty sweet. Muc more sinister looking and subdued than the regular blue. The key action is something I like, but you have to get used to it if you are used to vanilla keyboards.

It is highly recommend.

I have not set one, so do not assume one.

2. what must a keyboard have to be good or "the best"?

Based on your subjective opinion. The links are so I can see what you are talking about.

3. does wired/wireless matter?

No.

I don't know who you think you are. But please don't come into this forum high and mighty asking for OUR assistance. Then continue to bash because you didn't include infomation. You want a backlit keyboard, take your ass onto google and search for one just like everyone else.

How many backlit keyboards is any one person likely to have personal experience with ?

In any case, I vote G15 - adjustable light levels, handy LCD screen (see www.lcdstudio.com forums if you are wondering what it is handy for), programmable macro keys, good tactile feel on the keys, I quite like it.

I am not sure how you read my post as "high and mighty"? I certainly did not intend it that way. In any event, thank you to everyone for your assistance.

QFT. Soft, tactile imput, and not quite super quiet, but everybody wants a little "Clickity-clack", and it looks fantastic. Nice "almost-flat" layout too helps alleviate any hand positioning problems. Hell, even the drivers are WHQL-Certified :D

Review of the Red Saitek Eclipse

$49.90 after $10 off coupon "GOGETGEAR"; cheapest around.

I got the Logitech G15, as it was the only wired keyboard I could find at the time, and I was impressed. I still miss the mechanical click keyboards, but the features on it is nice. Can't wait until I have time to set the kb up for Photoshop and video editing. And being able to print the configuration for keys was nice as well.

I have the G15 and like it very much. The built in LCD has become much more useful than I had originally thought it would be.

That's the whole point of a forum. Its a place where people can ask questions and give assistance because we all love computers and want to help each other out. Remember what you said so that the next time you need help, hopefully you can quote "take your ass onto google and search for one just like everyone else."

that speedlink illuminated metal one looks pretty nice. Looks like it has laptop key action.
