Infocus X1 (if you can find one)
If you're thinking of going the DLP route, then seeing it for yourself is a must!!! Seeing rainbows was a dealbreaker for me. I went with a Panasonic LCD.Originally posted by: jfall

What's the difference b/t the X1 and X2?

Supposedly, the Infocus 4805. I've got one so I'm biased 😉
Ecost had it yesterday as a hot deal for $1199. I bought mine for $1250 when it came out.

The X2 has a DVI connector, and it's rated at 1600 lumens.

Do I need to buy a screen or can I project onto a white wall?

The X1 and the SP4805 have the Faroudja deinterlacer, which at the price was unheard of. The X1a and the X2 don't have it. It makes a noticable difference watching movies. The X series PJ's have a 2X color wheel, while the SP4805 has a 4X color wheel. Faster color wheel = less rainbows, for those who are prone to see them.
