What is that usb port on my router for?

In most cases it is for plugin in a USB Flash drive, or any drive in USB enclosure and using it as a NAS.

😎

What about printers............ see what the manual for your specific router says.

Or are we supposed to guess what router you have?

....pass

I think the OP is just trolling here.

The USB port depends on the model of the device...some don't even work at all.

Where's that quote that goes something like this, 'you have given us nothing to help you, no model, no brand, no baseline. In short your brain doesn't work and you should go live in a cave'? I see it in sigs all the time, and it is very valid to this discussion.

:colbert: My guess is that FearoftheNight only believes in flying first class all the way.
He's probably running an AirPort Extreme.
In which case the USB port can be used for external HD sharing or a USB printer.

As I posted before.

USB Storage Port - Portable Server

Centralizing an external storage device and file sharing is easy. The TL-WR1043ND features a USB port that allows users to attach USB storage such as a flash disk directly to the router itself allowing any network connected users to instantly access the data on the disk such as enjoying HD video directly or sharing flies at will, just like a NAS (Network Attached Storage) system.

It does Not seems to mentione anything else.
