I used to drink alot more than I do now. I'm almost over drinking. I've been drinking since junior year of high school, I was about 15 when I started, I'm now 23.

I've come to realize I know exactly where my limit with alcohol is. I can tell if I take another sip of alcohol that night, I will get sick. Also if I have enough beer and then take a shot, I really don't like that much :frown:.

I don't like to drink more than 4 or 5 beers in a night, because I don't like waking up hung over. What I do like to do after those few beers or drinks or whatever is smoke a bit, and it gets me just as fucked up as someone whos had the whole 12 pack and I'm not hung over the next morning.

I don't get sick, I don't get hungover, I enjoy myself for all the reasons people listed earlier about escaping, just having a good time,I'm shy, so it makes me more gregarious (except those times when I smoke and get really high and retreat back into my head and think:))

I'm in a fraternity, so I've seen just about every type of healthy and unhealthy relationship a person could have with alcohol. And we don't drink that much as a house :Q

late.

have a drinking party with 3 girls, watch them get down to their panties (no bra) take pictures. have a great time.....

^^ my kind of escaping reality. cause that kinda stuff just doesn't happen in my reality.

drinking does suck, the day after, is miserable, especially if u have to work.

top 5 reasons i like booze:
5: it feels good
4: it makes me less shy
3. it makes boring things very unboring (ever came home from the club and washed dishes or vaccuumed? hehehe)
2. you can say things and then after be like "what do you expect, i was sooooooo drunk"
1. it makes the ppl around me happier

top 5 reasons i dont like it:
5: sometimes it seems like you are quiet but you are actually screaming
4: it makes boys think that its okay to sexually assault me
3: you say dumb things and look dumb and then you look even dumber when you say you were drunk
2: most of it tastes bad
1: being sick

*kat. <-- take what you want from this.

BoberFett: sorry to hear about the split up :(

I don't want to but in, but you might want to try and ween (sp?) yourself off the getting hammered though, you don't want to use it as a crutch and get to the point where you need it to feel better. Just mho.

After watching and cleaning up after friends who got drunk to and past the point of passing out I could never bring myself to do that. Sure I've gotten a tad tipsy a time or two but nothing even close to feeling like I was going to be sick. I just don't understand how people can do that. It's like beating yourself about the head with a brick. Just plain dump if you ask me...

sure next morning is horrible, but that is the price to pay of a night where everyone gets to loosen up and act like their true selves and have fun. for me, its well worth it. only live once, i think alcohol is harmless unless u drive. thats where i cross the line of fun. it may be fun to drink, but its not worth your life or the life of someone else.

I have no idea, but I shall try it when I turn 21 (3 more years)
My friends who are older than me seem to be enjoying it thought.... to some extent, like a bottle or two.

For those that say they don't like the taste of beer, email me, and I can suggest a few different brews to get you started. I have "converted" three people from absolute non-beer drinkers to people who actually like it. Since I've personally sampled over 400 different ones, I can vouch for the fact that the texture, taste, and overall character vary WIDELY among beers.

Elledan: If you are judging beer by Heineken, then there's a serious problem there. ;)

There is no benefit to it... 5 years of my life--->woooo! *swirl, swirl* Down the toilet.

It destroys relationships and families, and makes people do stupid things like drive boats into sandbars... Yeah, bad.

As has been said - many people don't intend to get as hammered as they wound getting. This is especially the case when dealing with hard alcohol and mixed drinks. Some of those drinks go down so easy that you slam 4 or 5 of them before the buzz actually hits. Then while buzzing you slam down another 2 or 3 and before you know it, you're stumbling about and humping inanimate objects. Knowing your limit is just something that comes with hard experience. After a couple times of hanging your head in a toilet bowl you'll finally figure out if you know when to say when or if you should just give it up.

In my case, I couldn't judge myself with hard alcohol so I stopped drinking it entirely. The drinks that I mixed just went down to easy and packed too much of a punch. That's why I started drinking only beer. It's easier to moderate yourself. More times than not I will get full, bloated, or waterlogged before I get sick feeling. Sometimes I'll wind up with a hangover but its usally due to a combination of not much sleep and not enough water before bed. If I rehydrate myself before bed and get more than 4 hours of sleep I'll feel halfway normal in the morning.

It's just takes some hard lessons and a healthy dose of moderation to prevent you from getting to the puking and passing out point.

<<<What is so fun about getting drunk? >>>

What is normally remember whenever I get drunk is spending the night next to the toilet...

That wasn't fun...

I just have 1 or 2 when I do decide to drink... I feel better in the morning that way...

:)

LOL

Well, if you can recommend a beer which actually does taste good and which is also available here in the Netherlands (unless you want to send a bottle to me... ;) ) then I'll do another try...

I'm one of those people who absolutely doesn't want to lose the control over their behavior nor body. Losing control over your body and behavior is exactly what alcohol does to you.

BTW BoberFett, go get drunk and stop playing a smartass. You're not funny at all.

Not to get drunk with the intention when you start, but to go out with friends and if you do..ok...if not, so what?

Cheers!

Try Duval or Duvel, can't remember the correct spelling.

dead in a pool of blood and puke the next morning dead

and drinking causes you to talk redundantly over and over again repeatedly again
;)
