straight up overhead view.. it was pretty cool, in that sucky kind of way.

Ahh yes... Ir emember having a city so large it too over a minute per "tick" That was fun :)

SimCity 3000 rocks. I think I will get it out again. I have a few days to waste. Rollercoaster Tycoon is pretty good too. Play that for hours on end.

Rollercoaster Tycoon Rocks! It will take advantage of your dads skills as a land developer, as will SC3k.

Keep in mind, that both the Rollcoaster Tycoon and Sim City franchises have new versions coming this fall. If you don't want to wait, pick up the RT Gold Ticket, which has RT and two add-ons. The neat thing about RT is that you can play scenario games as well as a free for all. SC also does it, but has less scenarios.

Take your pick, I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Oh yeah, as some others have said, SimGolf (a Sid Meier game) is good too. Just don't mistakingly get Golf Tycoon, the game is apparently horrid.

Doesn't Maxis have the original Sim City game online on their website? I remember playing it once but that was a while ago.

Another great simulation game is Civilization III, this and SimCity in all their incarnations have devoured months of my life...

I still have the original SimCity floppy... copyright 1989...

Is there anywhere online that I can get instructions on how to play SimCity3k?

I bought a copy on eBay and it didn't have a hard copy of the instructions.

Thanks.

I couldn't really get into Sim City 3000 that much. 2000 was the best of the series, I think.
