To you? It can be of any date range, from your childhood or until now.

Basically any objects, experiences, or organisms of either fictional or from reality that has creeped you or the average person out.

I am curious, I'd like to see this from a mass scale perspective and see which category is dominant. I'm willing to guess that it's a fictional creation that was seen on TV/movies.

Marshall Applewhite, leader of the Heaven's Gate cult. I was I dunno, 7 or 8 when that happened and I was terrified to sleep alone (I shared a room with my brother most of the time). It lasted for years. Really weird, it wasn't until my mid-teens that I could look at his picture and not get goosebumps.

Seeing things that you aren't sure are there creeps me out the most.

Earlier this night actually, I was walking through some dense trees to get to the beach so that I could have a clear view of the night sky. (the sky is amazingly clear tonight) When I thought I saw something in the dark walking fast through the woods near me. I fucking almost shit and started running.

Spider webs. I don't know why, I can't explain it, but I have this phobia of spider webs, mostly having them touch me. Even the small single line ones. I can stand from a distance and look at them, but no way in hell I'm getting near enough or touching them. I get shivers thinking about touching them, especially the big ones like there was under my garage. Took me a whole day to get that crawlspace cleaned from webs. I was moving at a very slow rate while waving a curtain rod furiously in there to clean them up, while simultaniously brushing all the walls with a shop vac.

Weird thing is, I'm not scared of spiders. Some people are scared of webs because they know there may be spiders around, but that part does not really bother me, it's the webs themselves.

Death. Which, BTW is what everyone is really afraid of when they say they're afraid of something else.

I once had a dream that America had a retarded president. Then I work up and discovered they'd had three in the last 10 years!

Well, it's the retards that "elected" the retards to office so you can't blame the presidents for being retarded.

Can I be the new Marshall Applewhite if that day ever comes?
I propose our new religious sect be named: Cult.
I'll start hoarding the Kool-aid just in case.

living in new york most of my early years, like any kid back in the day, I used to watch the living shit out of the ghostbusters cartoon. the episode with the boogie man haunted me for the majority of my childhood. since i lived in new york and the ghostbuster storyline is based in new york, I swore that the boogie man was in my closet, plotting my death.

I knew someone would do that, so I googled him beforehand to prepare. Still creeps me the fuck out for a half second. I used to be completely terrified when I saw a picture of him.

Actually he does look kind of freaky.

Looks like he will turn into something, or do something very nasty.

my mom read It to me as a bedtime story when I was in 1st grade.

I refused to walk over sewer grates (even though gigantic ones that take up the entire sidewalk in NYC) until I was in my late teens.
