What is ice dancing?

It's a more artistic form of pairs ice skating, with less emphasis on "triple axles" and more on dance. The best ice dancing performance ever was Jayne Torville and Christopher Dean's performance to "Bolero" at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo.
