I found time to ride my bike this morning. We have been getting hammered by rain. To the west is what to come for today in the next few hours.

Yesterday was what the meteorological people call an atmospheric river. It went all the way down to San Francisco.

Anyway, quit hoarding that shit, we got only a third of our average annual rainfall in 2020 and nothing in the forecast.

Neighbor told me yesterday that in his rain gauge, we had gotten almost 5" of rain since NYE...and over 13" during December.

Now you can't tell the difference between yesterday and today. It's nuts. Current doppler radar image. It will get worse by the hour. image_2021-01-05_122351.png

When I moved to the Bay Area from SoCal years ago, my wife told me that its super green and rains all the time. That was a lie. Also the start of a historic drought in Cali.

Still a very dry year here despite us getting the tail end of the atmo river.

PNW is looking very inviting.

It's been a week of Rainfall Warnings up here, just outside Vancouver, BC. 60mm/2.5ish inches expected today. The volumes are abnormal, but water constantly falling from the sky is perfectly normal this time of year.
