MONG-Grel !! Tell me the board and the processor in that rig.

I like lots of airflow, so my faves would probably be either an Antec 300 (original) or a Rosewill Blackhawk (minus the headphone jack issues, hopefully they've corrected that problem with current models).

Been meaning to try a Rosewill Line Glow or Line M.

See, I remember posting here initially in 2004. I've done all kinds of things to enhance air-cooling, but it is only this sig-build where I think I found the perfect combination. All three cases on the KVM in this room use HAF 922's, but only the sig-rig is totally optimal for air-cooling.

Now I'm thinking about going to custom-water if I feel lucky like the guy on the dock in the final scene of "Dirty Harry." "This Sandy Bridge K is the most powerful . . . ever made, and will blow your head clean off! Do you feel lucky [with that Haswell-E]? Do ya?"

I can't help thinking about airflow even though I might not have something to push it through -- like the D14 . . or D15 . . . or . . . whatever. I suppose for an internally-mounted radiator, well---sure -- airflow is important. Just as important.

my all time favorite, is a case called the Windy.
Im sure not a lot of you guys have heard about that case, however it has the definition of BLING.

extremely blingy and very eye candy cases.... they carry a price tag on average 300-400 dollars tho.

Sorry for not sooner.

It's pretty long in the tooth these days, ASUS P6T7 and an Intel X5650 @ 4.3.

Still works for me 🙂

suxx that it was a limited edition and they can't be found anymore.

Yes, i'd take this over a caselabs.

For what application? Gaming system, workstation, home desktop, HTPC, application server, file server, etc. etc. etc.?

Ahh yeah, these delicious things. Wish I had one.

Your pc does not need a power supply? LOL! Solar?

Flux Capacitor - you just can't see the garbage chute 😉

Seriously though, there are two chambers - one for the mobo & related component and a second one (that you can't see from this side) for drives, PSU, etc.

I originally thought the Carbide 540 was "too big, too 'boxy.'" It's a viable alternative for water-cooling, though. FrozenCPU is offering them in a custom-configuration with dual -- likely serial -- radiators.

I really wish i could have splurged for the zxt h440. The psu being isolated from the rest of the interior of the case and having the spots there for ssd's just makes it rediculously aesthetically pleasing!

I like the smaller cases for looks like the NCase and the Compact Splash, but I prefer to use larger cases. Case Labs are great. Corsair's aesthetics are pleasing to me, very basic and clean.

Obviously my tastes lean toward the opposite sides of the spectrum as well. That M1 is empty, I had planned to build my next system in it and get completely away from the monster rigs. Two things happened that led to it being vacant. 1) I came across an X5670 that can pull off 4.9GHz, that delayed the retirement of my X58 system. 2) I happen to notice the Case Labs Mercury S8 and loved it instantly, so I decided to go full custom water again and transfer my X79 system to it while I wait out the X99 stuff. I don't know if HW-E will make me jump or if I'll just wait and see how Broadwell/Skylake-E plays out. I sure would love to build out that NCase though.
