I think if everyone agreed he lost you would be right but if the election is at all close I doubt there will be such agreement. What does the secret service do if the president says the election was stolen?

What they will do see who the announced winner is and that person is the proper President. If Biden is that person then he is the one they are loyal to. Trump can bitch but it's black and white and no interpretation is allowed nor desired. There is no "too close" even if it's one vote. In the case of a very close election there is close to three months to sort things out. Come January 20 at noon it's over and Trump can please any case he wants but the Secret Service isn't involved nor concerned at all about that.

Yea, the Dems are blowing this Big Time. I dont really like Megan McCain, but she did make one very telling statement on the View, (paraphrasing, dont have the exact quote) "If you have to explain the policy, you need a clearer policy."

We desperately need police reform, much better training, greater accountability, getting control of the unions, etc. But the "De-fund the Police" slogan (mistakenly) gives a first impression of totally getting rid of the police and allowing anarchy. Trump and his cronies at Fox and OAN will have a field day with it.
Biden, Dem House and Senate members along with Dem Mayors of large cities are not in favor of defund the police. How are Dems blowing it?

How many times has Trump done something where people claimed, a President would never do that because it's illegal or unconstitutional, gone ahead and done that very thing.

Now you think the leopard is going to change his spots when it comes to leaving office? Who are you kidding?
Well, the push back from the SecDef and generals to his desire to deploy active military on US soil to quell the protests give me some hope that ultimately the constitution will prevail. You can bet that he (Trump) will whine endlessly about how he was cheated out of the election though.

Who controls Trump? Zionists.
Who controls Biden? Zionists.

Trump will leave office. No matter who we vote for, we get a Zionist. I love our 2 party system. We get the same thing no matter who's elected. They will make him get out to give the illusion you have a choice.
Ah yes, because we just don't have enough racism these days.

I wish I shared your optimism.

I suppose I should have said "those who started the Defund the Police movement", to be more accurate. Of course, Trump will not try to label his opponents with this tag, because we all know he never even distorts the truth, much less lie continuously.

Perhaps it is to my advantage to know these people and others like them in the past. I don't think the culture will have changed to favor Trump. In exchanges of people who know people I'm confident that the Secret Service finds him abhorrent personally but he's the one elected like Obama before him GWB before him and it doesn't matter. The winner of the election is the one they are duty bound to protect. Ex presidents being protected is a courtesy.

Maybe something like "defund corrupt police departments" or "defund racist police departments"??

It is just one poll and but trump does seem to be losing ground fast.

That's been true for multiple polls for the past several days. Unless Trump manages to do something sterling in the next few months, he may well be toast in November even with the virus and GOP efforts to rig votes.

I wish this didn't come in the midst of a pandemic and racial injustice, but my favorite metaphor for Trump appears to have been valid: the Republicans are a group of friends who pile into the car of a drunk driver (Trump, of course) because they're determined to get home before the morning. They were gambling that the driver would get them home safely, but instead it looks like he's about to drive the car off a cliff. They were so obsessed with the short-term power grab that they may have thrown away their long-term chances.

You know he'll win because the GOP in control of swing states will just say their machines are not working so only Trump votes count!

Basically, their "Defund The Police" message is scaring people. I'm sure that they don't mean getting getting rid of all police by saying that, but you know the saying in politics.... If you need to explain what it really means, you already lost most people.
Yeah, "Defund the Police" is poorly worded for political purposes.

Not until the inaguaration date he ain't. The BS Trump can, and will try to pull between Nov 4th and Jan 20th keeps me up at night.

Oh he can do his damndest to get revenge against America the thread is about Trump leaving office. If Trump loses he's out. It may take many years to undo the damage and a generation or more to regain international trust, but Trump will be out.

I'd be thrilled to see Trump foment insurrection when he's out of office or spill state secrets for spite or profit. I would not be surprised if he is seen as a threat to national security if convicted of crime and I think we know how the Patriot Act and related laws treat those.

Mind you, there's a question as to how many state secrets Trump will actually remember or care about once he's out of power. His staff practically have to create elementary school versions of briefings with lots of pictures to keep his attention. I can see him blabbing about a few things he still remembers, but it's hard to imagine him remembering or caring about anything that didn't stroke his ego.

More like Georgia voter suppression dial up 10 times. There will be boogaloo bois patrolling the voting areas and voting equipment will be malfunctioning or directly tampered with. Much of it will turn out to be illegal afterwards but who cares about afterwards.
These boogaloo bitches wants a civil war too, autocracy from there on, you think Trump wont use them if he feels cornered?

Which is sad because it is a clear sign people don't reasearch anything. Folks seem content with looking for information that correlates with their opinion.

What I am worried about is the GOP going "Fuck it, all in, we have the power, we will stay in power." and moves to help keep Trump in the WH, effectively ending the experiment.

Turmp's supporters already claim that Trump doesn't mean the very clear things that he says--when it's convenient for them to hide behind their very real prejudices.

Is it that they don't understand very simple, very obvious messaging, or that they don't care? It's one or the other.

But either way, why would you think that having to explain simple things to such people is important? They clearly don't give a fuck about understanding anything that challenges their base, inbred biases.
