Apparently my sense of accomplishments/success is more screwed up than I thought. I'm amazed at what all people are posting in here.

Graduated with a 3.95 cumulative GPA and summa cum laude (from a 4.0 system). That is including my humanities credits :p:D (don't hate)
I work as a programmer now and have a nice house. Volunteer from time to time (unfortunately not for over a year now ... :/)
Hoping to return to school for graduate studies (physics) at a decent school. I want to do this before I'm 30, for sure.
I have no student debt (saved up all through high school & lived at home while going to school), nor any credit card debt.
I'm 23 years old.

As for the future?
I -plan- to go back to school at age 25. I hope that I can have fun in grad school and learn a few things.
For the next two years I just want to code, get drunk every weekend, and perhaps find a nice woman along the way. I'd like to do some programming projects at home, too.
If I find a nice woman I'll keep on with the plan and have a nice life with her.
Maybe have kids around age 35 if I ever do have them (don't really want to, even in the distant future).

Other crap I'd like to do?
Get a car! (yes I have a house but no car...I'm in Toronto so its allowed)
Learn how to fly
Travel
Read more classics
Take some humanities courses part-time perhaps. I'd love to take some courses in creative writing, style and prose. (No, I don't look down on liberal arts :p).

Thats about it.

While I might be considered successful compared to most poeple my age, this 'success' is meaningless to me, as I never expected anything less of myself.

So to answer your question, nothing. But since I just turned 22, I am still hopeful for the future. I am working on a idea that I hope to patent and a startup which I hope will be successful, so we'll have to wait and see...

Umm...I have a college degree and I work at Walmart. I'm a loser.

I did recover from schizophrenia, though...that's quite an accomplishment.

I wasn't planning on responding to this... but I've not been able to get this thread out of my mind, since you posted that.

Nononono... not stuff like that. I suppose I would view a Nobel prize as an accomplishment... but most of the things that folks here have mentioned, I don't.

Examples of things that I do consider an accomplishment or success:

I feel as if I've done nothing worthwhile except help other people.

Married most wonderful woman in the world. Wouldn't trade her for anything.

Had two absolutely precious children. I would give anything, including my life, for my children's health.

i've managed to help raise over $300,000/yr for the past three years to put on a big 4 day event that in turn has led thousands to Christ (most important accomplishment), and thousands more to have a good time...
i produce/run a positive radio show that is reaching thousands of kids every week... also featuring independent bands each week to help and promote their careers...
i teach/tutor kids at an alternative school who have either been kicked out of public school or choose not to go... more important than teaching though, i influence their lives positively and show them hope...
i design websites for ministries/churches/businesses/bands.. all sorts of people...
i run the sound/production for my church, i love it...

(Note that I don't necessarily include it due to your religion, but because you're doing stuff that means something to *YOU* personally.)

I've played the piano for elderly people in nursing homes; I tried to teach a retarded guy how to play the piano. I've fixed many computer for free. I helped several people with websites for free. I tutored a guy in C++ for free. I think God would rather see a lifetime of little things than a couple of big things that took a whole life to accomplish.

Been to 30+ countries. Swam in the ocean without land in sight, while diving off of the forecastle of a destroyer... ...I have a dual Xeon server that I dreamed about 10 years ago, when I was researching my first computer build. (Was making a P2-233 with a Tyan mobo and a Voodoo 2. And while searching for RAM, I found the specs for a dual processor P2-Xeon machine... I made me a wish list then, and always wanted one since).

Accomplished:

I'm the only 1337 person on AT (as my profile # suggests)! :D

Graduated from HS with 4.02 GPA (weighted). Scholarship from Morehead (don't laugh at name ) State University

Associate degree in Engineering Science from Morehead State University 1991.

Graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Engineer with a BSEE and 3.5 GPA: 1993.

I have my associate's, and I'm working toward my bachelor's in mechanical engineering at UCF. I'm only an undergraduate, yet I'm conducting two-phase heat transfer experiments. (It sure beats my last job as a retail clerk!)

These are examples, obviously... I couldn't care less about jobs, schooling, or finances, for the most part. What matters to me are family, friends, and standing up for what you believe in... and that's about it. I suppose I'll never make it very far in life, thinking like this... but nonetheless. :( Yes, I know that a couple of the items on the "non-accomplishments" list could be included in "standing up for things you believe in" - specifically, serving in the Army, serving your nation, etc. The reason that they're on my non-accomplishments list is because I hate the Armed Forces.
