I was at my moms house when my niece who was 5 years old at the time came into the kitchen complaining the tv was broken. I walked into the living room and it was working fine, I told her it was fine. She told me "no its broken, there is no color".
I love lucy was on the tv.
Man I feel old.

My first bunch of years growing up I had a B&W TV. It also used vacuum tubes, and you had to wait for it to warm up before the picture would start. I used to like the smell of the electronics after they were heated up for awhile :^)

How old are you Queas?
I got caught out, when it was undecided between dvd or minidisc, i was sure that the world would go minidisc. Better quality, and you cannot scratch a mini disc. But no, the world is shit and i have a heap of music on mini disc that i cant play.
Its is amazing how fast the technology moves forward. I bought a Lcd Tv in Janurary and its all Rca inputs. my neigbour bought an lcd tv this week (same brand same model, bigger size) and its all hdmi inputs.
They actually released music on minidisc?
From ~5th grade through 10th grade, I listened to music on a portable CD player. In early HS, I upgraded to one that could read MP3 CDs. Then in 11th, I got myself a Creative hard drive player. I don't remember the CD players ever being that big though - a little larger than the CD itself for the latter ones, and the first one was a little more rectangular.
My older brother did have a tape player, but that wasn't that big either. I guess since it was the late '90s....

I waas huge into minidisc in college. It really wasn't the minidisc versus the dvd at all. It was more or less the minidisc versus the status quo CD. People never really got into recording digital music at that point in time. Minidisc recorders were 300 bucks + and were sold in only a handful of electronics stores with barely a selection of players/recorders. I ordered nearly all of mine from Japan. I showed friends the red beam from teh optical cable and they were blown away. "Whoa almost CD quality recordings!".
The minidisc was a great format but once the mp3 wave caught on it was Game Over.

Then got a portable CD player and put it in pocket which made a huge bulge; it was fun watching people stare.
