What happens to an honorably discharged marine who protests the war?

Everybody has the right to protest. It's the fact that he protested the war in uniform that people don't like and I don't blame them. Be more respectful to the men and women overseas.

i recall during the countless protest marches held during the vietnam war in which many veterans were wearing incomplete or nearly complete uniforms that they wore in-service. why weren't they prosecuted by the services then? too many pissed off ex-draftees to contend with maybe?

or maybe since it's an all-volunteer military now, they're expected to be of higher caliber and stature?

when i retired out of the military, i was not specifically told what i could and could not do with those uniforms and accoutrement that i bought with my own money other than being prosecuted for attempting to impersonate a service member on active duty.

i personally do not approve of the manner in which that veteran protested. however, based on my past experience with viewing veterans protesting in that way i can honestly say this shmuck got singled out and is being made an example of, pure and simple.

imho, all it took was for one flag rank ossifer to get his skivvies in a bunch and he sent his soiled ire up the 'ol flagpole for others of his status to rally around.

The reason he was prosecuted is because of what happened during the Vietnam war. It was unheard of to protest war while in uniform and then it happened. There's absolutely no reason he should have protested while in uniform. Not only is it disgraceful but it's moronic and I'm sure he knew he would be knocked for it.
