Isn't the forum I'm looking at just a skin
I just did a right click on the page, and then clicked 'Block on ad on this page'. I hovered over the ugly black box to select it and then followed the rest of the steps to block it...POOF it is now gone...
That fixes one of the 3 or 4 major issues I have. The orange text is killing me, and the string of "share" buttons across the bottom of the page just plain offends me for reasons that I don't understand. The default avatar is annoying, and all that crap on the right side needs to go away. Overall it feels like an inflated phone app.
All it really needs is a big banner across the top that reads "This one trick can save you hundreds on your utility bills".
I hate having to adjust to new things.

I find it hard to believe anyone would willingly choose to "upgrade" to this format, so i'm just going to assume Perknose or whoever runs the show here was roofied and is left for dead in some ditch somewhere...

you can use Ad block to delete the share section (you have to the mouse around until the whole section is selected)...same thing goes for those two sections on the right when viewing all of the posts...

Hmmm... I just took a look at my profile. It seems that some interesting changes have been made there too. "Reactions" should be interesting...

You can easily turn the right-hand sidebar off and on.

Looks like another couple of hours worth of CSS tweaking to do, but at least I got a head-start working with the beta site at the other URL posted.

I'm not a fan of the user stats being hidden by default. It was always good to be able to immediately see when a user had joined and how many posts they have.

Click the dot stack next to the REPLY or POST THREAD button up top ... to toggle the right sidebar on/'off.

I'm going to like this file attaching.

Whoa, where did the Edit button go? I was able to edit my post a few hours ago. Not anymore.

That Delete button though ... :openmouth:

You can toggle when you are in the Anandtech/Anandtech Dark styles but not plain Default style....I didn't see the 3 button thingey in that view to toggle off/on...am I just missing it???

they don't show if you are using the regular Default style....the user stats doesn't show in that view either (no arrow to click on)...

I don't see much reason to use the Default theme over the AnandTech one, but I haven't really compared them closely.

It seems that if you choose the default style, you lose the button at the bottom of the page to switch to a different style. You can still change out of the default style through your account preferences. FWIW, I lean towards the default style for now.

And we still need a facepalm emoji...

But it is nice that we can now upload images!

I could get used to the dark theme, the dark grey is quite easy-going on the eyes.

- edit - with the dark theme I can see the edit button on my post.

Far too much unused space everywhere, lack of contrast from foreground to background, useless trending thread feature, and that awful 'ask the community' thing feels out of place. I doubt it will bring many people in, and most threads posted using it will probably be low quality and hard to get anything useful from considering it doesn't explain how a forum works really. Sorry Purch overlords, I'd prefer this place doesn't become an overstyled mess designed after all the worst modern forums. Is it supposed to appeal to a younger group? So much useful information is now hidden in menus and sub menus just for 'a streamlined design' screw that.

It sure doesn't provide any more useful information or work any better. Based on how slow everything's going either the site is still recovering from the upgrade or I'm about to run out of mobile data and battery much quicker.

My biggest issues though are all the wasted space and the lack of contrast. At least fix that before I go blind, jesus.

Also I predict much pearl clutching now that PC Games is a steam logo
Yeah, I kind of wonder if Purch got permissing for that one or not.

Yes, I think that the new design layout is "AT Forums, Millenial Edition".

Heck, I dunno, seems somewhat inefficient, compared to the old forums, but ... kind of new and big and colorful. I'm starting to like it. Then again, I may be starting to get senile or alzheimer's too, so I may not be the best judge of these things. :p

I hope this looks freaking fantastic on a phone because it's impossible to believe that anyone previewed this on a computer monitor and approved. This is 10 times worse than the old Xenforo default theme and that was unusable. This is complete garbage. Who did the VBulletin theme that most of us were using, Ken g6 if memory serves? Ken, please save us again!!
I can tell you it looks absolutely crap on my Note 4.

WTH?! :openmouth: stats are SHOWING NOW.
Back 4 hours ago, in the Default style, it began showing user stats under the member name - likes, join date, post count. I swear, when I posted this earlier, the last 2 posts to this thread showed stats. I figured they'd changed some settings.
But now, it's reverted to no stats - so you have to hover over avatar.
