yup. i'm in a position of authority. a female co-worker put it on my desk. what the hell happened? it had my name clearly written on it. thoughts? please, no sarcastic comments like "thats what you get for spending half your day looking at porn".... its kind of disturbing that I'm on Playboy's mailing list. and embarassing. i've never subscribed to playboy, and i've never purchased one.

subscription changed to postcard. sorry for confusion. not intended. i used the word incorrectly.

there isn't any way that some company was able to determine if i was looking at porn, trace my ip, investigate it with earthlink, and then earthlink sell my personal info to them. thats not possible right? or for earthlink to monitor my useage and then sell it direct to playboy?

See if they have a customer service contact number and find out how the subscription was paid for and by whom.

OK, they don't make money by sending free subscriptions to people who they determined were porn addicts by their IP addresses. Someone either paid for the subscription, or signed up for the subscription and told them to send you a bill. Call Playboy and see if you can find out who paid for it.

Uh...you SAID it was subcription to playboy. NOT a subscription OFFER. This is just spam. Everyone gets it.
If it was only a subscription card, who cares?
These things get sent out to every man over 18 everywhere. Anywhere could have sold them your address, age, and sex.
Your co-worker must know this.
Get over it.

Tell her you needed to look at something to distract yourself from staring at her while at work....

You should really stop undressing female co-workers with your eyes ;)

my bad:

according to m-w.com

http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=subscription

"3 : an arrangement for providing, receiving, or making use of something of a continuing or periodic nature on a prepayment plan: as a : a purchase by prepayment for a certain number of issues (as of a periodical)"

i have been using subscription incorrectly. my bad. anyways, it was a postcard asking me to signup. and yes, i find that even offensive.

If you use your work address for a lot of forms and the like then that is why you received one. I received one as well a few months back, but at home.

i do. i'm at work most of the time, and when i do online shopping, i hate it when sometimes they dont' leave it at your front door then i have to reschedule a pickup or drive 15 mins away to the pickup center and get it myself, so i use my work address a lot. i've gotten things from pcnation, cdW, dell, etc. but nothing from an sexually explicit company. even though i laughed it off as junk mail, it still looks kinda bad.

Was the postcard just asking you to subscribe or was it saying thanks for subscribing? I know you didn't/don't subscribe but just curious of what it said. If it was asking you to subscribe I really don't see an issue.
