it was asking me to subscribe. it was embarassing because i'm in a position of authority and because when she handed it to me she kind of chuckled. there is something else too that i can't share though. anyways, i'll try emailing playboy to remove me from their list.

Of course its embarassing...you got a playboy postcard at work. Did you keep the postcard? Probably has a phone number for their subscription department which would be better than a general email IMO.

So you got unsolicited mail. Big deal. You're not the first nor the last. At least your female coworker is intelligent enough to understand that or, OR realize that your private life is your business. If you're not interested in subscribing, throw it away and go on with your life.

edit: I don't see how this can make you look bad, but whatever...

Agreed. I got one of the postcards today too. My only advice is, if you subscribe, don't have the actual magazine sent to your work. Probably bought your name from another publisher or from another subscription you have from one the the same clearing houses (I wouldn't be suprised if I was on the list since I get Maxim, nor would I be suprised if it was because of Money or Forbes).

Did you sigh up with freebizmag for free FHM,Stuff, Maxim, or Playboy?

I got the same type of postcards frequently at my home after I sign up for one of the above.

I haven't read all the posts here but what has happened is a company you registered your work address with (trade show, free mags etc...) has sold your info. This is common. Your supervisor/manager/VP is well aware of this practice and you wont have any problems.

The only way someone could have set you up as a prank would be to send you an actual subscription to PB at work. You can't sign up anywhere to get the post cards to subsribe. You might want to contact PB and ask that they not send you these at work. I think they are required to take your address of their list or put it on a list that prevents future mailings from them. They are set up to protect themselves since they are in the Porn industry. That is why they have been around for so long with so few lawsuits.

one time, my friends bought me playboy magazine addressed to my home.....they wanted the first issue to come to my house b4 i left back to school. Unfortunately they timed it wrong, and it was sent after school started (went back down to SD to my apt) and my parents called me up saying why the hell did i order playboy magazine...i was kinda shocked because i never ordered the magazine. Thankfully my friends were next to me and overheard it and said "uhhh happy belated bday dan...ooops"

:(

A while back, my family received a Playboy catalog in the mail. Yipes.

The kicker was that it was in my Grandpa's name.

An even bigger kicker was that my Grandpa had ALREADY BEEN DECEASED for two and a half years!

They got your name off of a mailing list and sent you junk mail. Nothing new, calm down.

OK, they don't make money by sending free subscriptions to people who they determined were porn addicts by their IP addresses. Someone either paid for the subscription, or signed up for the subscription and told them to send you a bill. Call Playboy and see if you can find out who paid for it.

no, it wasn't a subscription. if was playboy postcard that was inviting me for a subscription. but it still showed chicks in revealing attire on it, it was a full color postcard. it had my full name on it.

well thats just spame, throw it away, no one will care.
