i'll probably join this gym for lunchtime training;

http://www.reeboksportsclublondon.com/home/index.php

it's some seriously fancy gym. it has an obscene list of stuff;

i was getting worried until i saw a few squat racks1 they even have a platform but i don't think they'll let me drop the weights as the weights didn't look like they were meant for dropping [plates were not made of rubber]

the price is a steep 99pounds but my new company are offer a subsidy unlike the other companies that only offer a cooperate discount, which amounts to 8pounds off1

i'm just glad it has a squat rack where i can hammer out the squats at lunchtimes. the indoor 13m rock climbing wall is sweet and i will make use of that. the 23m indoor pool is cool but i'm lazy in regards to swimming ;p

my other gym is pictured in my lifting videos. a real lifting club where i can drop weights properly and has nice bars that spin well. the bars i lift with are worth 1k dollars due to the way they spin and because they are made specifically for olifting and won't bend out of shape after a few big lifts1. this and 2 other gyms are free because i'm national standard in olifting.

ps that 13pounds a week is seriously misleading1 it is only for fri - sun weekend where i'm not at work1 basts'

I'll join a JCC (Jewish Community Center) few days from now. They have small weight lifting room, no squat rack, only power rack (I think I can squat in it anyways). They do have a bench and few barbells. probably no room to do jerks/snatches though 🙁
But it is really close by, has a large swimming pool, and cheap - $24/mo + $25 set-up fee (free to me actually since it's not me who's footing the bill).

edit: your gym does look seriously kickass!

i lift at a local (central California) chain called In-Shape City. the price is good & they don't
complain about my chalk. they have one squat rack & one power cage, but they're
hardly ever in use when i go in (early AM).

$20/month at Milpitas Health & Fitness, only two locations, but one is a short 5 minute jump up the freeway. Hoops court, boxing ring, mixed martial arts area, etc.

Local LA Fitness. It has everything I need. It also has a ton of machines that I never really use except for cable rows and lat pull-downs.

Just started at 24 Hour Fitness. $39/month. They have quite a bit: squat rack, power rack, several benches, lots of free weights. Not much room for cleans or things of that sort though. Tons of useless machines. Main reason I went with them was an indoor pool and pretty cheap price(compared to Spectrum at $55-65).

Where I am right now, I go to this local church across the street. They got a MASSIVE complex and a separate building with basketball courts, track, and gym. Free of charge!

I have my weights, heavy bag, and speed ball at home. I'd never go consistently, if I had to travel to a gym. Though I have been seriously considering it of late. I don't have all the stations I'd like to do, and there is a little independently owned and operated hardcore iron pit, in an old shopping plaza only 3 miles from me.

24 Hour Fitness - 3 year deal for $750 (inlcudes 5 hours of personal trainer sessions that they normally charge $250 for). Renewal is $29/year after that (at least for the first year 🙂)...

There is a location 5 minutes from work and another one 5 minutes from home from me...the one near work opened last summer and the original 3 year deal was $900. After reading that some folks in Cali were getting 3 year deals for $650-700, I walked out after my 1st visit and they called me back 2 or 3 times a week. After 3 weeks, they offered me the $750 deal...

£99.00 per month is a lot just to be able to squat at lunch time.

I think with my £320 company subsidy it drops to £73 a month so it isn't insane, but yeah it is quite a lot money to squat at lunchtimes. I'll use the rock climbing wall and thats usually £10 a go when I go to another climbing place.

24 Hour Fitness, been going there since 2000 or 2001 I believe. Cheap, has all the free weights I could want, and the last place (and current place) that I live at - there's one down the street about 5 minutes from me.

My only issue with that gym is that some locations are just babe magnets...I can't concentrate when a hot chick walks by to save my life 🙁 (Luckily the one closest to me is void of hot girls in the morning except one of the trainers)

i go to ballys.

if it wasn't convenient (< 1 mile from where i live and also on the way home from work) and cheap ( < $18/mo) i wouldn't be a member though because it's crowded a lot and has some older equipment, and people don't put weights back in the right spot most of the time. but i'm used to all those cons now that it doesn't matter.

I go to Xsport, it's just over $30 a month, has all the machines and equipment that I need. Db's up to 150, pool, locker room. My martial arts gym is local and free since I'm training to compete.

The main thing for me is convience. The shorter the place is to my work place/ house the better it is. More so at lunchtime where I only get an hr.
