my parents got me an ipod touch which I totally wanted, but they got me the 8gb model :( I've got single directories that are bigger than 8 gigs. hah. already printed out the return label so I can send it back to amazon and use the refund money to partially pay for the 64gb model.

and my quasi-in-laws got me a really nice gift basket of cookies/candies that I can't eat... that'll get communally regifted to whatever New Year's party I go to.

I gave someone some sunglasses in a musical gift box. He immediately invoked 'dibs' on re-gifting the box. He liked his gift, too.

Heh my poor dad. He got me a GPS after I alread have one. I am not quite sure he didnt pick ip on it when I got him from the airport around Thanksgiving and it was running. I felt kind of bad telling him I already own one. My sister got me Rock band 5 for the xBox360. Except I dont own a 360 hehe.

But I did get a Maytag stainless steel microwave for the kitchen. Wooohooo you know your days of youth are numbered when you get excited about kitchen appliances for Christmas lol

Nothing. I like my gifts. Besides, I'd feel like an ultimate scumbag if I returned or regifted a gift. I dunno.

Even things I didn't like in the past, I would still use them just because my conscience forces me too. :)

Most years we regift or donate most gifts we receive. We pretty much have everything we want and if we receive something we don't need we try to pass it on to someone who wants it. It makes no sense to keep items we don't want and can't use. We rarely return gifts as we would rather just give them away or donate them than suffer the journey to whichever store they came from.

Step mom and dad picked out clothes for me, which were terrible. Sending them to my sister to exchange.

Maybe he/she hopes to be the one to start your new trend? :p

The best "I don't like you" gift = fruit cake
The best "I really don't like you" gift = re-gifted fruit cake

Re-gifting an itunes card & giving away a mighty wallet to someone who might actually use it...other than that, all my gifts were cash or gift/debit cards :p

Misc tools from a family friend that duplicate what I have.

Will return the sets to Home Depot and get other items needed

Nothing.

I only got things I asked for with the exception of a few really dumb gifts my parents ALWAYS give me every year.

For example, they gave me a 2010 calendar that was free from my Dad's company he works for. WTF, why would I want that?

They gave me Stetson aftershave. I NEVER wear aftershave or anything of that nature.

Etc.

They're really terrible at gift giving.

I tell them all the time to get me nothing and they always get me little crap just to see my open something on Christmas day.

I'm 30 freaking years old! I don't need to open stuff like I'm some 5 y/o on Christmas morning.

I'm not returning a damn thing. My wife let me get a PS3, the kids got me a wallet to replace my current one that is falling apart, and she got me some cologne that turns her into (more of) a horn dog. Yeah, I'd say they're all keepers.
