I wouldn't call Arma 3 the best, but it can look pretty good.

Also Morrowind when you first get off the boat at the start. I saw it for the first time a few weeks ago and thought "that water looks nice, even today". Back in 2002 I imagine it would've absolutely blown people away.

This. Not that long ago I remember watching the water in Balmora and thinking this was amazing for how old the game was. And also Darkstone is very good for a 16 year old game.

And side note, this subject reminds me how astonished I was when I first saw the water in Wave Race 64 (mostly its physics / general motion quality).

I still remember N64's Wave Race (still own it!) as a graphical marvel.

When I saw the title of this thread, Wave Race was the first to pop into my mind.
I'm sure if I was to look at it today I would pshaw it - but during it's era, it really was "ooh" and "ahhh".

I would pay big money for a ship sim that looked like that!!

GTA5 water and underwater stuffs is amazeballs.

Witcher 3 looks good just started that up last night.

Crysis 1 with mods is great too.

Swimming controls in GTA V is such BS though. It's just overly complex based around the amount of buttons available over what makes sense. They must have hired the Trespasser team. :colbert:
